I was still a lurker but I was awake and waiting with you all
LOL.

I do wonder what the lurkers make of this expereince.

I expect that we've still go a fair few, given the amount of hits this thread continues to get.

They probably feel our pain but hopefully we've given them some laughs tonight.

Oh yes, now that I would like.

My brain power has maxed out  but I'd love to read a list if anyone wants to do the honours.
i think that might be a task for after they leave, or before if someone wants to give it a go

i think i might do a list after the 15th

That we are certifiably insane more than likely .

Go for it.

I think doing a convention for Chryed might be near the top of the list somewhere.

I still can't believe we did that.

I'd have never thought when I joined this thread all those years ago, that three years later, we'd come together and hold our very own convention over the boys.

We are indeed.

However there is a chance that the Stendan thread will over take us once Chryed go.

This was the ONE AND ONLY time when being in Australia during the majority of the reveal eps was an advantage. It was only lunchtime there.

Ste and Brendan, Hollyoaks.

It's actually a Brendan fan thread but many posters are a fan of the couple.

I've just been catching up, and got carried away clicking the links.

Fake spoiler and wheelie chair had me laughing like a drain - again.

We have had fun.

And I'm determined to be cheerful, it may JUST be sort of alright on the night.

Yes - and they're a lovely bunch. I don't watch HO but if any thread can over take this one, I'd want it to be that one.

Oh this. I spent most of Friday and Saturday ranting and beleive me, I'm still angry. So angry, but my anger isn't going to change what's already been written.

I want to try and enjoy the little time of Chryed I have left.

Bless you Katrina - I was so, incredibly, seriously pissed off I can't tell you. I felt a sort of groaning, disgusted despair.

But, I'm feeling mellower now, gotta go with the flow and all that. Enjoy what we have.

Tomorrow I'll be ranting, moaning and scathing and the rest of it most probably mind.

ETA - I've popped in a couple of times, and the Brendan lot are great. I might have got into that as I think Brendan is a fascinating sexy bastard and played very well.

But he's leaving too so I hear.

(Yes, I said I wasn't going to post again, but that was because I was bringing you all down with my negativity. I'm glad to see most of you are now in the same place I've been for a while now. )

They're currently 113 threads behind us, and averaging between 2-4 days a thread, depending on screentime. So let's say 3 days a thread.

For them to catch up to where we are now, it'll take 339 days - around 11 months. So as long as Brendan stays in HO until at least October next year, yeah they will - but we've had a good long run at the top. And we'll always have been the first thread to get to 100 parts on DS!

Things I've done for Ellitridge

Book three flights to Canterbury three weekends in a row to see the panto
Took a two hour bus journey to Dublin after finding out the night before that Johnny was gonna be there
Paid money to bring my flight to London forward so I could see Marc in Tape more than once and also go to Cafe de Paris.

I'm sure there's more but those are the main ones.

Dessie, you are a statistical whiz. Want to be my accountant?

I am off now, have an urgent project which I need to finish.

Also, I am at peace now with this all. I wrote what I needed to write about how I understand it, and then read Pete, and I feel at peace. I do not want to be angry these next 2 weeks. It is not what I wanted, but it is what we got, and at least we are getting something finally. And I will trust Pete to do his best for us.

I am out tomorrow night, but will have a quick catch up later, and will join in the last late night vigil.

I once went out in my pyjamas at 2am to post a letter to Marc so my parents wouldn't find it in the morning But the worst thing I've done must be the sheer amount of money I've spent going to Elstree/Johnny's panto/Tape multiple times... I must be insane

Someone asked about Pete's tweets earlier...thought I'd put them here, the main ones anyway.

The thing about acting out of character is that actually in real life we do it all the time. When did you last say about someone, 'I can't believe they did that, it's so OOC'? I think Syed was at a place where his whole world was about to crash, at the same as he was about to do something monumental. Knowing that last time he married he got it so wrong and hurt so many people. I don't for a second think he's not a one man man. Sex can be a very dark drive. Sometimes it's love, sometimes it's escape, sometimes it's to forget, or it's self destructive, or even for punishment. Syed had always struggled with his feelings about sex, he's got a lifetime of culture and religion and guilt there. I think our characters actually allow us to hold completely contradictory feelings at times. Right now, I think you're reeling, like Christian. Whether they get through it, only time will tell.

I think Syed wanted to tell the truth, then saw how much pain it would cause. He was honest about the part which to him was important, about how it made him feel, about his doubts. I think he felt 'why hurt Christian more for something he will never know?' I also think Syed did something that disgusted him so much he couldn't bear to see that disgust in his lover's eyes. And I think he was desperate not to lose Christian. And, like his mum, he has form for sticking his head in the sand when things get tough. I think none of it takes away from his honesty in making his vows, in wanting to spend his life with Christian. Whether Christian - and you - can ever see that and believe that, only time can tell.

I think the difference for me is I don't think at all it was 'all a lie'. Syed clearly, to me, desperately wanted to marry Christian. To spend his life with him. And he did one awful thing he so regrets. And tried to be honest, and couldn't hurt the man he loved more than he felt he had to. I think, in Syed's eyes, he really felt he'd been open, and this was a new start. I think he was incredibly naive to think the whole truth wouldn't catch up with him. But that's different to lying about how you feel about someone, about wanting to spend your life with them. I think the reasons why Syed made that mistake are complicated and complex, and I spoke about them earlier. I think whether they've been destroyed - only time will tell. Enders weddings often happen with there still being secrets, or with a brief flurry of happiness that quickly goes (think about Janine and Michael recently). The test of a marriage is in how you deal with things, not just the day itself. Think I said before, there are weddings which seem beautiful but don't last. And those that are faulted but stand the test of time simply because they are tested, because the people go through fire.

As angry as I still am about what EE has done, which nothing can change really, his tweets did make me feel a bit better. And I love how much he cares.
