I always love ranks but always hate it when i am so passionate about em too...but here goes it

Have decided to kinda divide them into "levels"

Like A Prayer (my favourite album of all time, it speaks volumes to me and brings so many memories with it too an absolute tour de force masterpiece)

Erotica (so very close, a total dark masterstroke, way ahead of its time)

American Life (also nearby is another way ahead of its time, life affirming album full of gusto, assault on the senses drive)

Confessions On A Dance Floor (a pure Dance/Time Travel/Synth assault on the senses piece of genius! Exceptional self analysis lyrically, vocally melancholic and production off the walls!)

The First Album (One of the finest album Debuts of any artist...8 songs of pure Synthpop, Electro glam, Post-Disco, Neo-Punk styles...very purist and gritty)

Ray Of Light (A wonderful Apocalyptic Electronica album, a real slice of genius...if sci-fi married Pop music...a really life affirming piece and explorative...a masterstroke)

Like A Virgin (A very Soulfully stemmed album...M and ROgers worked so well here combining Motown with Neo-Disco and Synthpop...a really beautiful concept album)

Music (Her most schizophrenic album ever mixing the fun with the deranged, the FOlktronica with the Trip Hop...and some insane Electropop in there too...fantastic)

Im Breathless (A time travel piece that centres itself within the vibes of Dick Tracey mixing Jazz and Soulful gusto together moving towards the New Jack Swing of the late 80s into full blown House with Vogue....slick!)

MDNA (Her latest piece of work is a real very good album, mixing severe highs and lows in one foul swoop it really does feel like one song taken from each of her eras mixed together in one full adenaline rush)

Hard Candy (Echoes back to her "The FIrst Album" roots and in turn feels like a Sequel to COADF yet retains a contemporary Urban vibe too...often misjudged as an album but it is very good and one to blast in the summer..not entirely perfect but relentless fun)

True Blue (Again this album is oft considered a classic...and tbh it really is...but it contains my least favourtie ever song by Madonna "Jimmy Jimmy" and i am not entirely fond of "Love Makes The World..." either...while fun of course...but the album boasts sublime hits and drive and White Heat and Wheres The party are sublime non-single smashes)

Bedtime Stories (My least favourite Madonna album is very good...I feel it is an album that needs to be listened to in sections and segments rather than as a full mostly...it has slick R&B, Contemporary 90s sounds, Echoes back to Disco in there and of course experiments with Trip Hop/Electronica)

I'm Breathless would be somewhere in the middle but its never considered one of her studio albums. Not sure why as most of the songs weren't even used in the movie.

1. True Blue - Where do i begin? The cover is a work of photographic art, symbolising Madonna at her 1980s best! Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart, True Blue and Where's The Party are all brilliant revolutionary pop songs. La Isla Bonita was literally the first song played to me as i was growing up, it was on an old Now record and my sister used to play it constantly - i remember loving the crackle on the record as the bongo drum led into the song. True Blue also contains my all time favourite Madonna song, Live To Tell. I also love the most unpopular track Jimmy Jimmy.

2. Like A Prayer - Iconic, argueably her most accomplished work and also her most creative.
[Highlights - EVERY TRACK]

3. American Life - Underrated, acoustic mixed with electric and incredibly personal.
[Highlights - Hollywood, Intervention, X-Static Process and Nothing Fails]

4. Ray Of Light - The most successful re-invention of her career, brought Madonna back to the top.
[Highlights - Frozen, Drowned World/Substitute For Love, Has To Be and Mer Girl]

Here goes I have thought long and hard but based my list on what albums I still play and enjoy as much now as when they were released compared to maybe how much I initially loved the album. As especially bedtime stories at the time I never really enjoyed with exception of a few tracks yet now now it one of the most played in my collection.

yeah, warner co-released the `hits` series, so her music appeared on those albums instead. `la Isla bonita` was on hits 6, if i remember correctly.

If you look closely side 3 has La Isla Bonita as the first track followed by Bruce Willis 'Under the Boardwalk' - memories!

While i have ranked True Blue low (as you know i adore all her albums tbh anyway) yes that look was her first true shake up wasnt it....i do adore that look and Whos That girl...film and tour tbh

Why thank you I ranked kind of in order of what I enjoy and perceive to be her best as well as the general concensus i get from others and then her goods as they are above average nada good listen even if the weakest in her cannon but most surprisingly seem to agree on the rank order MDNA being he only devisive one unsurprisingly

haha i like it....yeah kinda like how i thought out mine in an unthought out kinda way haha.

Like my fave ever, then the albums closest to that and then the ones i enjoy basically .

and yeah tbh while i think MDNA is great all round...still my favourite this year...it has more or less laid down the road unto the next chapter really...but its done well considering everything too Im just ready for the delicious top quality tarmac to go on the mysterious road for album 13
