I'll vote for Brookstein. Sharon was a completely useless mentor but she was often bang on the money with her critiqes, particularly about Steve.
I still remember the week that she told him that he was more suited to 'easy listening' music than soul music, as he didn't really have a soulful voice. Steve responded by doing a karaoke version of a Luther Vandross song on the spot, and he completely proved her point. |

Maybe this thread should have been - were there any contestants left to like?

Why all the hate for Ashley McKenzie?
Admittedly I can't remember much of that season, was quite young, but as far as I can recall he was a complete babe.

Starting from series 5...
S5 Daniel Evans- Me nan before it was mainstream Rachel Hylton- Nice voice but really unappealing Eoghan Quigg- I don't understand why people voted for him S6 Jamie Archer- Seemed like a wannabe Danyl Johnson- So into himself; I'm not shocked that many forgot about him Dannii- She wasn't new by then, but her presence was unusually vile this series. I also hated what she did with Stacey S7 Storm Lee- No, just no Diva Fever- Simon putting fodder to push One Direction or trying to get another Jedward John Adeleye- Cheese S8 Frankie Cocozza- I don't mind that his voice isn't the best, but he just came off as lazy and unfit to be in music. I know that part of this perception is by the media, but he's adding fuel to the fire Nu Vibe- It just didn't work Craig Colton- A fat, non-orange, young version of Maloney, only he tries to be current more often. Eww. Sings with no emotion whatsoever and has no star quality S9 Christopher Maloney- DUH Carolynne Poole- A wannabe country star that acts like she's 20. A bit hard to watch I didn't like Rylan at the start but he grew on me. I'm also on the fence with Jahmene; he has a great tone, but I hate how he oversings everything. |

I remember watching that at the time and squirming in my seat. It was cringeworthy!
This thread is really making me laugh, just because of sone of the ways people are describing why they disliked contestants so much. It's crazy how we dislike more contestants than we actually like! Thread would be so boring if it was based on who people liked the most. No one would be interested because of all the happy clappy comments. Reading some of the stuff in this thread is so funny. It's the main reason I created it. I know how much people like to vent their hate. :P More people to add to my list that I thought of: Danyl - I've never come across a contestant so up himself. Ever. Joe - Nice guy but found his performances so boring. Rhydian - no emotion in any of his performances. Diva Fever - Just... awful! Johnny - just hated his performances. He may have enjoyed himself but it became a joke after what he wore during his first live show! |

Oh how I forgot about that myself! It was so cringe! Didn't she say she was spending a lot of time with Stacey that week? Did she honestly think people would like her "new" personality!? lol

This looks like a popular thread.
![]() I'll only name the acts that bordered on genuine rage from me: Ray Quinn (series 3) The Unconventionals (series 3) Rhydian (series 4) Eoghan Quigg (series 5) Danyl Johnson (series 6) Jedward (series 6) Diva Fever (series 7) Katie Waissel (series 7) Frankie Cocozza (series 8) Christopher Maloney (series 9) |

I don't know if you've taken my post the wrong way but I really wasn't trying to disrespect anyone else's opinion. My posts are purely mine. Maybe I have taken you up wrong myself but I definitely respect all opinions.
