Michael is late 30s.

I knew Michael wasn't going to be in tonight's episode, but the scenes Derek had with Liam made me think that Michael would pop up. I remember at the beginning of the year when Derek befriending Liam and Michael looks uneasy...

Yeh I think he meant David at that point.

Jamie said in Inside Soap a few months ago that there's still stuff to come from Michael and Derek so I'm really hoping there will be some scenes.

Im confident we will see more Michael/Derek scenes before Derek's exit.
They have unfinished business and will make interesting viewing . Michael will have a hand in Dereks downfall surely ?

Of course, in MM's case it would be more Darth Vader part 2. I doubt MM's Derek's child. Michael was born in 1972 - (my rough calculation - MM talked of his mother dying (last year) when he was six, and referenced it was thirty-three years ago last year - thirty three years from 2011 is 1978. If he was six then, he would have to be born in 1972, or roughly around that time period - it would make sense given he went to school with Jack, and he's born in the same year) and Derek was born in 1960 - he'd been twelve when MM was born.

oh yeah one of the best characters the show has who presumably is getting along just fine with Scarlet now and needs no help or mention and can just bubble away in the background :/

Having said that I didnt really like the Michael/Derek story, much preferred Michael/Jean - hope we get some more of that in 2013.

Michael needs a good kicking and I, for one, don't mind appearing as an extra in the Xmas episode to administer it to him (and I don't care one bit if his girlfriend Priscilla comes on here having a go at me)

Derek preyed on the fact Eddie Moon was an absent father. He used to wind Michael up about it.

I love that the uber confident Michael can stand up to Phil Mitchell but crumble when around Derek. I hope their past is visited at least once before Derek leaves.

Derek was talking about David stealing his girlfriend Jackie from him, she was Derek's childhood sweetheart who went off with David hence this hatred for him.

If Derek's death is a whodunnit, then they'll have to revisit the story between these two because I'm sure Michael will be a suspect.
