Has there even been an occasion when a celebrity has out-danced their pro partner?

Austin Healey's jive kicks and flicks were better than Erin Boag. Fact.

Widdecombe has a degree in Latin, so she is officially better at Latin than Anton

On the subject of Anton, his and Laila's Jive. And possibly Samba. And possibly Salsa...

Did not Darcey scold Louis on Sat for kicking higher than Flavia?

Didn't Matthew Cutler forget a big section of one of his dances with Alesha once and they had to wing it?

Which was a complete fallacy. They kicked rather in unison. Yes, Louis had to kick to Flavia's flexibility, but Louis did not outkick Flavia.

Thank God, four times I went back and watched that tango, hardship I know, and I couldn't see one time where he kicked higher. There was one out of shot though and I thought it might be that but I thought the kicked the same height.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't see where this happens! I have watched this tango countless times and I've even paused the kicks to see where he kicks higher and I just can't see it!

Don't forget that the pros typically under-dance when they dance with their celeb partners. However Anton is always at risk of being outdanced in latin by a really good celeb partner, one of the reasons he's always paired with a no-hoper nowadays.

Agree with that totally, Austin looked like a pro in that jive and was so much better than Tom's jive - and also Matt Baker outdanced Aliona in their showdance in 2010.

His partnership with Laila Rouass exposed this. I think it was the first time that I could remember a pro being criticised by the judges for failing to produce an adequate routine for their celeb - in this instance, the salsa which he turned into a bit of disco-strutting.

Fair enough if you saw,I didn't notice either way to be fair, which is why I asked.

It happened twice I think. First in their gorgeous Foxtrot, about 10 seconds of the routine. Apparently he just said to her 'follow me' and she was able to because he'd taught her not just a routine but how to Foxtrot if that makes sense. They got back into the routine and finished it beautifully.

Second time was in their Paso where about 30 seconds at the end was just made up by both of them.

I believe that many people thought that Kara almost out danced Artem in their AT routine. Mind you, Artem was so good at showcasing Kara that your eye was drawn to her most of the time. IMO anyway!

Sorry Jared fans but Jared and Tina comes to mind - how much better would she had done with either Darren or Pasha???

Kara was so mesmerising, I don't think I really watched Artem very much. A loss, I know. Especially her Tango and AT. I think I only really watched him on their Foxtrot!

Aw, Jared. I still get a twinge of sadness for him when I spot him on that BBC trail for SCD (where members of the public are dancing outside at TV centre) - just because he was brought into the show and was so quickly out of his depth. Then promptly despatched to ... well, I hope somewhere nice because he seemed a genuinely nice young man.

If we're counting group dances, IMO Gethin looked far more natural and exactly how an off duty officer would dance in the jitterbug in Series5, whereas I thought Brendan, Darren et al, were overdoing it a tad. looking a bit silly. A matter of style, not ability.

oooh yes, I remember that

dont know if this counts but I saw Mark Ramps completely outdance Kristina in the AT on the tour.

up until that point I wasnt a Ramps fan, but from that dance I could totally see why half the female population were quivering wrecks when he danced

That's the one tour I've seen, as it was such a good line up. Mark, Austin, Kelly, Chris, really enjoyed it.

Absolutely agree, I thought Kristina was bloody awful to be frank, no subtlety or style at all.

Nancy outdanced Anton in their Salsa.
