I wasn't that surprised by the launderette thing, I quite sure my daughter (17 next week) wouldn't have a clue. she's have the sense to ask the lady though, I hope

I have to say I have never used a launderette (I'm 45!) and even I would find the banks of different machines intimidating because it's unfamiliar to me, and they don't always look 'obvious' as to which one's which on initial inspection - doing laundry at home is a completely different thing entirely. My daughters know how to use the washer and tumble drier in my house, but would my eldest (she's 18) know how to use a launderette? I doubt it - but, as you say, I think she'd ask!

But, has anyone thought that maybe the girls were 'advised' by the production team not to ask for help? I'm sure the production team could see 'interesting, humorous scenario' written all over it and knew it would make good tv - as people are always saying, we have to remember that what we see isn't always what the teams might have chosen to do if they'd been left to their own devices.

How ridiculous would advice not to ask for help sound? Anyway Dot Cotton's mum was on hand to put them right.

I don't subscribe to the idea that the production staff deliberately mislead the teams like that. Some things in tasks are clearly set up (sales opportunities in random shops for example) but telling them not to ask someone for help is not credible. Some people are too proud to ask for help and the attendant did look rather unwelcoming.

Not ridiculous at all when it comes to so-called 'reality' tv! Why do you think shop scenes can be manipulated but launderette scenes can't be? That is naive, and (with a friend who was in tv production in the past) they are not above such things when it suits their purpose. There was no 'story' in the launderette without the 'machine mix up' and 'Dot Cotton' character - and the two were undoubtedly related (and, for the record, I wouldn't put it past the production team not to have 'directed' them to that particular launderette to start with, having scouted it out!

But it is of no matter in the great scheme of things.

The problem watching this show on BBC1HD, is that it really highlights the acne.

Indeed. How many times have the adults failed to get the point about costs turning up as a cost to haunt you ta the end. And here in show one we have a PM who actually gets it. And theres some people this series who could out sell the Badger and not frighten half the people they stop off too.

Works both ways. Its pretty obvious what Patrick is offering in the way of a business. Its also clear from this week that he can't tell what will sell or how to sell his ideas, and Lord Sugar didn't think much of his big idea. However, the advice on selling is part of the guidance a winner can be given and Lord Sugar may not want to give ip on him without giving him another chance.

Max committed two killer errors. He avoided being PM nad then vanished into the storeman role, couldn't sell and opened up the didn't do anything charge. it also wasn't at all clear that he had a winning idea, or skill, and, if he did, he didn't display it in a task that centred around the old clothes he claimed to know about.

One is damaged for probably getting more wrong than right - the other looked useless.

The I am brilliant with exams to prove it argument never works. It usually means doomed to go early. James tried it last series and eventually shot himself in the head with it in the final. The really smart people on the Apprentice never mention it themselves if they have a First, or we never find out on the show at all. Last series Zara was a straight A student too and Lizzie has just got into a top Russell Group University - but all we heard about was James's top O level in Economics.

It's not a kimono, though. It's a yukata. A kimono is a traditional heavy-duty ceremonial gown while the yukata is the light cotton and casual version of a kimono. Unsurprisingly, the yukata is way more common and popular than the kimono.

A classic example of why you should never make the expert the project leader - it's too easy for them to get caught up in doing their own thing rather than actually trying to win the task. It's easily done (and easy for us to criticise from the sidelines) but we've seen this sort of thing happen many times before.

Having said that, it would have been easy for Sugar to fire Patrick because of his errors of failing to control costs and abandoning Westfield, but Sugar has to keep his eye on who he thinks might be worth investing in. As a junior award-winning designer, Patrick is certainly an investable option.

Max didn't want to sell - a no-no on the Apprentice - and I'm not sure his trading business (I'm presuming he runs an eBay operation or similar?) would ever really have the scale or uniqueness to be worth an actual investment. As such, he was the right person to go.

I can't understand why the girls won, i know they brought in more money, but sugar clearly said, that part of the task was to customize some of the clothing, and the girls never done that, so how come they won.

Is it wrong of me to notice how busty quite a few of the girls are this series?

I'm sure that lots of older women had a soft spot for Harry H last year, so absolutely fine!
