Is this a myth ?
I read somewhere that if you send a letter or an email to a company like Cadburys saying that you absolutely LOVE their (whatever), that they might send you a case of them as a complimentary gift ?
Somehow I don't believe it ! ![]() I sent an email about loving Wispa Gold bars, and I never got ANYTHING ! Not even a reply ! ![]()

My brother once sent an e-mail to Smiths (Walkers in the UK) complaining about the crispiness of one of their products. He got an apology letter and a really enormous box with bags of every product in their range.

Sadly letters of complaint garner more freebies.

To the people who do this and it works, do you just send them an email and wait until they reply and then give your address?
I had someone claim that they sent an email to an ice cream company and were then surprised when they received free ice cream. So surely if they werent expecting it they must have put their address in the first email so the company knew where to send it! Wouldnt that be a bit rude! |

I complained about dog food last week not expecting anything but they e-mailed me back asking for my address I sent it and got a £5 voucher sadly too disillusioned with the brand so I won't be using it.

I bought some fresh cod from a well known supermarket which had a live worm in it. I knew that if I'd cooked it it wouldn't have hurt me but it did put me off so I sent off an e-mail , not so much of complaint but advising them their suppliers screening process had failed. They e-mailed back asking for evidence of purchase and my address and a week later I received £21 worth of vouchers.

In my experience a letter of complaint, no matter how frivolous will get you a voucher.

A friend once complained to Morrisons about glass in a bag of frozen prawns. He'd cooked me a prawn curry and the bit of glass was in my serving. He got a £25 voucher by way of apology.
The next time he used the pan he'd cooked the prawn curry in, he noticed there was a bit of the glass lid missing. Just about the same size and shape he'd found in the curry.
