Just to update everyone.
Yesterday I updated to the new software.
And I switched off the power on at 6:00am off at 6:30am I had set before.
My relative also did the same on his box.

The original fault has returned 100% as a result.
So I can confirm the new software does absolutely nothing to stop this bug.

My box seems to be worse with the new software.
The software updated yesterday.
The box was set to power up at 06:00 and down at 06:15.
Turned off last night around 23:30
Failed to record Emmerdale today at 19:00.
Box powered up before hand and was still running at 19:05 but wasn't recording.
Brought out of standby and plannded recordings showed Emmerdale for Thursday.
So, either the wakeup at 6-6.15 failed to wake up or it no longer fixes the problem.
Will try once more tomorrow. After that I'm switching back to my trusty Pace Sky+ even if it is only SD at least it never fails to record anything.

At least yours worked Graham, will see what mine does tomorrow.

I like the debug mode where it tells you the date/time/duration of the recorded and planned recordings. Shame it can't be left turn on - it doesn't tidy the screen up when leave some menus

Mine couldn't be bothered to record Voyager this morning, the planner updated though.

(New software, still set to come on 5:00 off at 5:15, good signal quality 407)

Luckily I still have my Foxsat HDR which doesn't object to waking up and recording at 11:00 in the morning.

I set my box to automatically switch on a 6:00am and off and 6:30am on BBC1 HD.
I also told it last night to record today at 19:00 BBC1 HD on series record.
It has failed to record the 19:00 program.
The box has not been touched (left in standby) all day.
I have just switched it on 2 minutes ago to confirm it is not recording the program.

The program that has failed is the "One Show"
Luckily this was a test recording that I did not actually want to watch.

So I can confirm we have a new major bug with failed recordings.
Since the 6:00 am automatic switch on should have stopped the failed recordings (it did with the old software).

Saying all that, I have never recorded the One Show before,
so there is a slight chance it could be just a fault with the One Show?

Mine failed to record Emmerdale again this evening.
It was set to wake up and shutdown at 5:00/5:15 this morning.
Was put in standby last night at around 23:40 and not used since.
Box powered up just before 19:00 but failed to record the program.
The "planned" section was still showing todays program to be recorded, in the past it has always shown the next program. I started the recording manually and put it in standby. Will see if it records the rest of this events planned recordings.

They either need to fix this quick or roll back to the original software.

Since implementing the 05:00/05:30 power-on I have not had any failed recordings on either of the s/w releases. For the record I also have padding set to 2min in front and 10min at the end (rather than Auto). I have no idea as to whether this influences it or not, I simply mention it.

Box on 5:00 off 5:15.

Voyager (series) didn't record at 11:00, I then had the box on for about half an hour. At 6:30 it didn't record Strictly Take Two BBCHD (also series)

So two failed Series recordings today.

I then turned the box on and set it to record the Ones Show BBC1HD (Single episode only), it actually managed to wake up and start recording.

So no problem with the One Show, just a problem Recording Series linked programmes.

My wife has "Strictly" on series record every weeknight. Never missed a single recording.

And you also said........

You "have padding set to 2min in front and 10min at the end (rather than Auto)."

Mine is still on the factory set Accurate Record, Auto or what ever it is called on this box. (At the moment it is just a shiny BOX.)

Mine is also on factory default = Accurate Record.

I only record evening programs.
So I'm thinking it would be a good idea for me to ask the box to switch on at 17:59 and off at say 02:00 or something.
That way the box will not be in standby when anything is meant to be recording.
And see if that fixes / bodges the fault.

So it's not even consistent anymore.
Wonder if time since last power up/down to first recording is more critical now ?

My thoughts as well.
The vast majority of people do not switch on their Humax until they get home from work.
So 6 pm onwards is when most boxes are switched on for the first time in a day.

Even on peoples days off or stay at home mums / children, it is common to use the computer and a 2nd TV in another room in the daytime.
And only retire to the lounge with the Humax in the evening.

Of course everyone is different, but I'm talking about the majority of people.

Left mine in sby for several days, with the wake up programmed and no lost recordings. Without it the box fails to record Breakfast (the first recording of the day).

I have a usb lead with led lights in it. If this is plugged into the front usb port you can see the box wake up 15 mins before a Accurate Recording is due to start. There's also a very tiny and dim .rec icon on the front.

Deleted the Breakfast reservation and added Holiday Home Sweet Home (2 back to back episodes first at 12:35 ITV1-HD). I will leave the box in sby till after 14:35 to see what happens. Box in sby 16:50. So no recording planned after 20:00 tonight till 12:35 tomorrow.

Last night I set my Humax to switch on today at 17:59 on BBC1 HD.
I also set it last night to record today at 19:00 on BBC1 HD with series record (the "One Show").

If any of you are remembering my old posts.
Then yes I did cancel the series record for this program yesterday and then put it back in as a series record on the same day!

I have also not used the box at all today (it has been left in standby all the time).

The result?
I have just switched the TV on and found it is recording the program.

So looks like this is a bodge that fixes the fault.

I presume if I left my Box on 24/7 it might actually start recording the programmes I want it to record, I'm leaving it on this evening and it is currently recording.

Setrep with my box, post "update".

Box left in standby last night Ferris Bueller didn't record and Voyager didn't record again this morning, it did record Voyager before the update.

I set a couple of test recordings in the afternoon, these recorded fine, ITV HD News (Series) and then Countdown 4HD (Single episode) Both recorded perfectly, so it can record from standby if it feels like it.

Box then didn't record Strictly T2 again at 6:30, switched it on and the Now Next info had the Series Record on it.

Interestingly it wouldn't let me manually record Strictly Take Two, I think it thought it was recording BBCHD already.

The planner would normally update after not recording but tonight's was the last episode.
