EastENDERS Walford tube station BOMB attack
Just an idea ive had for maybe one of the landmark Eastenders episodes of the future
WALFORD EAST TERRORIST BOMB http://i54.tinypic.com/k9xlki.jpg A Bomb explodes at the Tube Station killing several locals. It could be the 'tram crash' style stunt and give Eastenders a proper disaster on an epic scale! |

A bomb attack in a London tube station, many watchers these days will have a great day with Ofcom.

EastEnders doesn't do 'disasters' and never has. |

The Bill did a really good terrorist attack, but it's a show that reflects crime rather than everyday society (with a bit of added drama).

They attempted this in 1992 with a bomb attack storyline, but it was soon shelved when newspapers revealed it and viewers phoned in to protest against it.
Especially with the London Bombing's, I really don't see it happening. It's like having an American soap, for example General Hospital which I believe is based in New York or a fictional location modeled on New York and having a terrorist attack. It just wouldn't be acceptable. 1. It would only get ratings high for a few episodes. 2. Yes it would be controversial. and 3. People would switch off. and EE can't not afford to loose anymore viewers. |

Emmerdale Plane Crash....
was about 4 years after Lockerbie Bombing one of the UK's biggest Terroist attacks, Emmerdale even Aired the story days after the anniversary! |

Lots of reasons why this would never happen, there are some subjects that even soaps, baby swapping or not, cant handle.
I'd quite enjoy a big stunt disaster but a terrorist attack is too serious and has too many repercussions to be attempted by EE. |
