At this point, Ste believes that he wants Doug. We are going to have to see what happens to make him decide that it's actually Brendan he wants. The almost near-death experience of the crash could well be enough and then bam might be right. Life sometimes spins on a coin.

They just make Ste look like a weathervane though sutts, if Doug is there he turns to him, if Brendan is around he spins round a bit then turns to him.

The way they write him I wouldn't be surprised that if Tony proposed instead he wouldn't just marry him.

It is like he has no brain, no thoughts, he is a thing to be fought over and argued about.

I think it should be canon that went Ste went off the get lettuce he really went for a little cry over Brendan leaving in the store room

I think this is the crux of it at the moment to be honest. Ste believes he wants Doug at the moment, no matter how much he might care for Brendan, and it will be something that makes him change his mind. I just hope the thing that changes his mind is obvious and not just a 'Oh Ste's changed his mind!' moment.

I actually thought the lettuce was some sort of diversion tactic as well. I thought Ste looked upset and when he turned to Doug his face kind of morphed from concerned to a smile. I thought the lettuce was to distract Doug from his concerned face, or to change the conversation topic.

Unlikely, but while I'm fanwanking everything else then nothing is off limits

BIB I know what you mean, Ally and I do understand why it annoys you, but tbh I can sort of see why he does it. He really has no one now - they made that very clear with his mum etc. The problem with Ste is he *needs* others too much, but some people are like that - I'd love him to be all sassy and kick ass and realise that's worth so much more than he allows, but I don't think it will happen.
