We've got no reason at all to think it's a special, apart from wanting it to be.

I might give it a try. I saw bits of the second series too, I think I got pregnant then and other stuff took over, I'm really not sure why I stopped watching it

they have to be friends, actually she would support brendan about ste better than cheryl does.
I think it would work as either a special or a main show plot, this Dublin stuff, but we'll just have to see. Just a decision the show has to make.
On the one hand, it's that must-see that they might want to air it normally as a strand or two-hander.
But then again, it's the so-long-awaited pay-off for fans of the show's biggest couple, so I'd be sure they'll try and make it as epic as possible and think anyone would make way for special viewing. And they could always air flashbacks of any time-appropriate parts of the special on the main show like they do Later once Ste and Brendan return together.
And the edge we have for assuming it's a special is those naked/shower scenes we know about. What else could they be for? And we may have gotten carried away speculating on sex scenes, I'm sure they'll be tasteful, or at least not porn, but they'll definitely be naked and having sex and be in love, so...
Unless they're waiting for Brendan's exit, but they could just have a special now and a special then...
