Really nice post Pom Pom and I certainly had a similar view to you in this scene, it was just the OOC wedding stuff that made me want to stab myself

Thanks Mojo. I forgot to tell you the other night that I loved your family picture in the deli. Loved it.
BIB:Yeah it wound me up too lol. I was watching with my boyfriend at the time and he went "Wow, Ste's having quite the gay moment there huh..."
But Sutts, you're definitely right about there being some serious plot devices going on in that scene. And that comforts me

Everything you've said here I completely agree with, and I don't think it's fan-wanking. I don't think it was portrayed to be a particularly important scene in the whole Stug/Stendan triangle but it was just a moment of concern on Ste's behalf to show he doesn't 'not care.' You used the term 'forced breeziness' which describes it perfectly. As you said he leaves the room, as if to emphasize that he's not bothered by the whole thing but also to maybe cover up any 'bothered' vibes he may be giving out unknowingly.
Just the way his face morphed and he did this little, strange smile. He wasn't happy when he was saying to Mitzeee 'Brendan's gone,' yet he did this little deranged smile when he said 'She doesn't know, he could be anywhere.' The smile just looked kind of deranged
Like he was worried, and he knew he looked worried so he tried to hide it with a smile. Then he immediately turned to Doug and left the room.
I don't know, people read things different I guess. I don't think the scene was particularly important anyway.

Thanks BH
BIB:Oh it was totally deranged wasn't it? I used 'manic' in my post but...yeah, lol, It totally was.
I don't think it was a major scene, no, or that it was supposed to show anything new, but I do think it was kinda key in continuing Ste thinking/feeling about Brendan. It might just be my 'No he does love Brendan!' attitude talking but I don't think it was just about having a scene with some of the favourite characters all together.
When I was watching it and Ste left the room, I was actually expecting a nice moment between Doug and Mitzeee about Riley that would maybe show that getting rid of Brendan isn't all just about Doug's insecurity and wanting to control the surroundings of Ste's life, but also about you know, 'doing the right thing for Riley'... But that never happened.
And it wasn't just about getting Doug was on his own to get the text from Shawnee cuz there was a bunch of ways to do that. Doug could have been the one that left the room, Ste could have just left the same time as Mitzeee, god, there could have even been a buzzer going off and Ste 'ooh the paninis' and running off to get them haha. But...none of that happened. Ste unnaturally left a conversation and room under the guise of lettuce... So I do think it had a little bit of importance to it, just to carry on the theme.
If Ste finds out about Doug going to the police over Brendan and still stays with him... I'm gonna be pissed I think. I think there would still be ways to make it believable, hamming up the guilt from Doug/someone nearly dying from the crash... but I think I'll still be upset cuz that would be pretty shit
The bullying storyline is pretty great. Some of it's quite difficult to watch, but I am enjoying it and I have to say, Esther's
"Are you stupid?" to Frankie the other day was brilliant to me *giggles*
