I think it's like everything else Pom Pom, it all depends on your own personal experience, I just took it that she was terminal and close to the end because that's what she basically told Cheryl.
She was a lying witch though. |

I see what you're saying, Pom Pom, and I agree. The first impression we had when Cheryl told Brendan that Nana had phoned her was that she really was in her final days, but the reality once we saw her was somewhat different. She was working, despite having to use oxygen, and she obviously knew her days were numbered but I think the urgency for her was that there were things she needed to say and do, and she knew she had to do them while she was still capable.
When she had to go to hospital it was for a chest infection, obviously connected to the cancer because her resistance was weakened, but not the cancer itself. I didn't find it all that hard to believe. |

But Eileen and Paddy can only disappoint me.
She won't get absolutely smashed and start crying into the stuffing about how no man can satisfy her needs anymore and he won't be an overlooked little shit who proudly shows off his Queer Basher of The Year 2009 award to all and sundry. They can never live up to that. It's better they stay at home rather than crush my dreams.

To be honest I've had enough Broel to last a lifetime Brendan needs to concentrate on the most important boy in his life
and i'm not talking about Declan and Paddy.![]() My God, all those precious months wasted on Broel and Bralker... while Ste was faffing around with Doug and bitching about Brendan ![]() Things really changed during these last few months, haven't they? Now Brendan is finally focusing on what really matters And we're finally getting the reunion *sighs happily* |

She was a lying witch though. Yeah I had thought that at first too, but then when we saw her she was...doing quite well considering. But anyway. Thanks for not just ignoring me. I know that post wasn't really appropriately posted. EDIT: Thanks Sarah. I forgot it was for a chest infection actually. Radio, definitely does depend on experience I think, yeah. I just don't think we really knew exactly how final her days actually were. |

I was wondering if it's possible Brendan goes to Dublin to see his mother. I've always assumed that when Brendan left Dublin to go and stay with his father and Cheryl's mother in Belfast, that it was because his mother had died (poor wee mite!), but maybe that wasn't the reason. Maybe she is still alive and living in Dublin? She has been mentioned a couple of times recently - at Lynsey's funeral ('It's just something my Mum used to say') and at the counsellor's ('Brendan lived in Dublin with his Mum and I lived in Belfast with mine'), and that often means a character is about to appear (or reappear, as with John Paul).

I think from my personal experience from cancer, I didn't find it 100% believable, but there were obviously parts of it that ran true. But Flo was in her final days and when my uncle was at the point he couldn't move an inch because he was so weak.
But I guess different experiences and different types of cancer give people different opinions on it all. |

Hello, happy new part and all that. No idea what this'll be the part of. Religious enlightenment? Declarations of love?Quote:

PRAISE JESUS!And with Deccie, I don't mind the lad, but he's served no purpose since Brendan came out to him over a year ago. Jan was horrible and pointless, summer was hacked to bits and incomprehensible (nice scene in the deli though), and the Walker climax was rushed. If they can find a purpose for him, fine, if not, let him stay in Belfast on his X Box.

The Walker thing and summer were funny though since Eileen failed to notice her son leaving the house and getting on a ferry twice

I think Declan is okay if he's serving a purpose, like accepting that Brendan is gay, or showing us that Ste is more important to Brendan than he is. Otherwise, he's a bit of a vacuum. He's got his fans, although by the time Jay leaves school and is free to work, the character won't have any reason to come to the village again, unless he's inherited the club and wants to run it with Joellums.

Anyone else totally fed up with Declan, he is a pain in the arse.
![]() The only thing his quiffy presence has ever brought us is brendan actually saying the words "im gay" i cant actually remember him doing anything else except scene bombing randomly to ask for a kick about. |

No idea what this'll be the part of. Religious enlightenment? Declarations of love?Yay!! They do seem to have sent Joely off on his own delinquent path for a bit, don't they. Happy with that. It's a good job Neil was so bloody good, because the story was a right old doggie's breakfast really. He got Joel stabbed. He ... er ... helped Brendan buy the flat (oo, the drama). There were 1 trillion scenes where they mumbled about Sampson until I felt like my brain was bleeding. It was all about the Heist and Later really. Plus those two scenes where he sniffed round Ste. God, I loved that Heist though. It was aces. *fans self* |

Kieron's TV show thing seems to be getting a cast? Hmmmm. Quote:
I don't think Nana was in her final days though, although that was the impression she wanted to give Chez and Brendan to get them to take her to the beach house. That stage was yet to come, had Brendan not helped her on her way first.

Do we think that Declan knows about his dad and Ste's relationship? I would've thought that he'd have guessed, I'm interested to see his reaction to it.

I fell in love with Walker the minute he hit the screen but I guess I got bored with him after all those months of nothing And I started loving the Bralker storyline after the Heist. It truly was an amazing ep, and everything that came after was great too.I'm glad they gave me a couple of Stalker scenes before Neil's exit

Oh, looked at the people he #ff ed and one of them was in Big Brother this year and one has been an Xfactor contestant.
That doesn't really bode that well for witty comedy somehow. I can see lots of battered sausage/fishy smell jokes coming up. |
