The DS wouldn't get a look in next to the IPad, I would definitely change your gift.

Why not buy her a book? It's unlikely that anyone else in the family will.

She's 8? There a plenty of things to buy her. I work in retail & in toys. Most popular this year is Lalaloopsy & Monster High dolls or if you wanna spend a bit more go for one of those really big Fur Real Friends like the Pony or the Puppy.

First thought is, as above, she is 8 !!!!!!
On the other hand, since you know she is getting an Ipad (why, she is 8 !!!) what about getting something that can be used with it (a doll app ?? sorry, sarcastic head on for a moment there !) Maybe a case, or a paid for app (I am back to the doll app aren't I ?) |

She's being bought an Ipad when she's always breaking her toys? Wow. Get her a protective cover of some sort.

Id personally rather have the DS to the ipad. I don't really get the appeal of tablets.

As a kid I would have preferred a handheld games console.
As an adult I prefer a tablet. |

Even a DS is quite some present to buy a cousin, I'd have thought a book token or a CD/itunes voucher would be more appropriate.

An iPad? For an 8 year-old who doesn't even know how to look after her own toys yet?
