X FACTOR guru Simon Cowell hopes to save the show by bringing back his old judges.

He has asked Sharon Osbourne to team up again with him and Louis Walsh — the sparring threesome who launched the show in 2004.

He also hopes to woo back Dannii Minogue, who was next to join — despite claims they had a short-lived fling.
And even fans’ favourite Cheryl Cole is in the frame, after she and Simon made up following their very public fallout.

Interesting that he also wants Holly Willoughby to replace Dermot, if any of this is true of course.

Would take it with a pinch of salt, especially as it's in the Sun.

You can't go back Simon. You created a monster and now you have to live with your decisions.

XF worked so much better and was more loved before the glitzy makeover and the horrendous auditions in front of an audience.

The show and XF PR has been laying the foundations for the next series since week 1 of the lives.

The Beast Barlow will soon be gone, literally soon on tour.

I'd love this to happen - though whether Dannii would agree to work with Sharon (and vice versa) I don't know

Dermot has had a good run - Kate presented for three series, Dermot has presented six

Holly would be good I think - it would be nice to have a female presenter again

I was not a fan of Sharon as a judge and was only able to get into the show properly after she left. She's ok as Louis' helper at judges' houses but that's about it.

Need Sharon back for a bit of unpredictability, whether acted up or not.

The show is far too predictable these days.

Four or five judges are too many. Please try to return to the original style of the programme, with the three original judges. Try to convince Kate Thornton to present again. Reduce the amount of editing and show more full length auditions (without extending the length of the programme over an hour, it was done before). Also, have the auditions back in a 'room' with only the judges and production staff. One final major issue, please reduce the amount of advertisement breaks during the live programmes, or at least show more acts per part. originally the acts sang shorter songs in the early live programmes before increasing in length before the final.

Minor issues, please return to using the original music cues and title music. Maybe recreate the original title sequence in high definition. Use consistent branding, such as the original X Factor logo on a black background used throughout the auditions and by using Gill Sans wherever possible.

Thank you for reading.

But Sharon wasn't good as a judge as she made horrible decisions.Has anyone forgotten how her comments after each person sang were often personal comments rather than professional? She put through the worst acts from the judges house in her category through to the live shows and then follow up by not mentoring them properly and soon loses her acts in a very short time! She often ganged up with Louis to save his and her acts during the sing off to send the better acts home. She was often unprofessional and I remember so many were happy when she was sacked. How can anyone want her back now.She was the worst judge who hated danii too.

It still wont save X factor. The format itself is too tired.

Completely agree with above. Especially having the auditions back in the room

What a load of rubbish. We're moving forward in this world, not backwards. That's why X Factor has failed this last two years. You want it to go back the the format when it was barley achieving 7 million viewers?

X Factor needs to keep changing and move forward and reinvent its self, like it done up until 2010.

If The X Factor has failed over the past two years, it is therefore because of the many changes that have occurred during that time. People like consistency, programmes which are consistent are the most popular and the longest lasting.

The only judge who could save this mess is Dannii Minogue IMO
Class, style and I always thought she gave good, honest critique

It was only ever making small tweaks each year (apart from series 6, which saw live auditions and the Sunday results show, but even then the live auditions were off the back of Britain's Got Talent), but it was small enough tweaks to give the show a different feel.

Series 4, 5 and 8 all saw new judges and it seemed to work for the ratings, but when they started to tail off last year, they should have done a massive reboot this year instead of what eventually did happen. Britain's Got Talent suffered from a poor panel in 2011 but came back fighting this year. There is no reason why X Factor didn't. Nicole & Alesha would have made a good pairing with Louis & Gary, with Alesha tying the two Cowell shows together.

Unfortunately they now need to go backwards to move forwards, and when you need to do that, you have a show in trouble.
