Although ive gone off matt cardle. I think this is part of the reason x factor is going downhill...he won the damn show. What's the point of winning or anyone caring who wins this year if the winner is going to be dropped and then ignored by the show?

I agree with you. SC had no intention of supporting him, he spent all his time and money promoting One Direction. Its not 1D's fault either.

Surely he's just not a big enough name to be on the show?

He was a winner regardless. Doing that to a winner doesnt give out a good message. Winning has become a poison chalice.

Absolutely agree. It's just like, if they don't get the winner they want, or if the winner doesn't end up selling well, that the show will pretend they never happened. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

In Cowelland, the public got it wrong and should have voted for 1D or Cher. So, despite saying it's all about the winner, in reality, it's about Cowells chosen ones who will be pimped to within an inch of their lives, The winner will be almost ignored and then dropped because they haven't sold enough, ignoring the fact they got £27.50 spent on them and the chosen ones got £17 million (or whatever)

Still using the show as publicity just to say how much you hated it is never a good move.

Cardle just did a Brookstein, you look an idiot.

He should still be given the opportunity to showcase his new single, I think it's really unfair.

Er... why? He's not a big name. Only big names get the showcase.

But his new single is crap!

The way I see it, he had his shot with the album release that was his prize as winner. I actually liked him on the show (as a singer, not a performer) but he's done nothing worthwhile since.

Same with anyone else that has left/was sacked from a company - you don't go back for the Christmas party do you?

I am looking at this objectively, The show is a publicity machine. If I was going to be a contestant (I cant sing), and won, I would want to be promoted so that I would sell more records. I too would be bitter If I was treated badly.

Good analogy.

But he still won the show and that should be acknowledged.

He has already has his obligatory "winners" performance the next year, why should x factor have to keep flogging this mans dying career when the public clearly dont like him? He is an embarrassment to the show now and should be consigned to history with the likes of brookstein and leon. He is a stain on the x factors legacy!

He was at it non-stop since he won, he ran the credible thing into the ground and burnt all his bridges.

Carrying it on again just to promote his new album and single torpedoed any chance of him going back on.

He learnt nothing from Brookstein, if you are 'credible' just let the work speak for itself. He was still using XF to get attention amd make himself seem so hard done-by. Which just raises people's expectations and leaves you wide open to criticism when what you then release isn't anything special at all.

Its a shame it ended so badly for him, he can surely sing.

I think he was last year. But the same thing happened to Joe McElderry and others. This is nothing new.

Matt seems to want to leave his cake and eat it, if you get my meaning.
