Do you think Rylan will stick to his word and sing a ballad this week?

As the title states.

And are you looking forward to hearing him sing without a big production and just singing a ballad?

If Rylan can't pull off a ballad tonight, he's done for.

He is not obliged to. He wants to be an Ibiza dance artist.

Could go one of two ways

1. He loses the 'fun' niche with the voters, Gary says he likes it but Rylan ends up in the bottom two.
2. He does a wonderful cover, Gary says Rylan should stick to his niche.

Yes, I hope he does, I really do.

I genuinely liked his judges houses audition, so I hope he sings a ballad to prove he can really sing.

I hope he sticks to his word..

If nothing else it'll highlight even more than the other numbers he's attempted, just how limited his vocal ability is..mind you, that depends on the ballad..

Something with a basic range of about 5 notes should be pretty safe, even for him.

I just wonder whether he'll manage to avoid reverting to type and won't be able to resist shouting... "X-Factor..make some noise," at some point?

After all it's a "U.S.P." and he's been doing it since the auditions..

Rich.

I recall Gary saying to Janet last year to sing out of her comfort zone. She did, and when it proved to be a disaster he told her to stick to her genre of music. So I can't really see the point of versatility if you are strictly one type of artist.

If he does, he'll be going home. So yeah I expect they've given him one! Gary might even like it, make sure he's really done for.

I don't think he's singing a ballad, but it'll be a different type of song that will aim to impress Gary and his haters, and show off his vocals more.

I think it'll backfire on him either way. If he doesn't do a ballad he's gone against his word and it'll show the producers/Nicole don't believe he is good enough to do a ballad. If he does it will highlight how poor his vocals are compared to others, even if he sings it well he is never going to have the vocals to compete with James, jahmene, Ella and kye.

Wrong. He never said he'd sing a ballad actually, people have assumed this. His words suggested that he'd prove his vocals, not specifying what he was going to do. He said that he's been looking on twitter to see what his fans averagely think of it, and the majority just want him to carry on being him. He said in another week or two he'd be happy to sing a ballad though.

He didn't say a ballad he just said he would sing without all the production. I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll do, but he might be in trouble, Jonny did that to please Gary and he went the following week. Rylans fans love the entertainment so they might not be happy if he starts to get too serious.

He may stun us all and do well. I never like to prejudge a performance. Last week people were excited about Ella's song!

Could he try Rule The World

Maybe not as it opens quite deeply and the chorus is quite high

When Wagner went 'serious' they gave him Creep

Not exactly the point is it? He said he was going to do it so if he doesn't then this directly affects his credibility.

God help us, not an ABBA song please?

And that one?

I bet it'll sound like the Kathy Burke and James Dreyfus version..and like most of his stuff sung down the octave which just adds to the naffness..

Rich.

Yep, in the same way that a bad drag queen in a back street gay-bar singing to a really cheesy backing track to a bunch of people too drunk to care, or know the difference, thinks they can pull it off..

Only he won't have a "fabulous" frock, a wig and a ton of cheap slap on his eek....nor any witty one liners to distract from the fact that the rest of what's coming out his mouth, is sacrilege..

Mind you, if he wears anything close to that monstrosity that appeared in Dubai, he might just about do it......and shouts his "trademark," line..at least the noise in the "house," might drown it out.

Rich.

He might sing the hung up part like acoustic before breaking into gimme gimme.

He really needs one of those "stand-out moments" the X-Factor often rolls out for the controversial acts so people might take him a bit more seriously.

Imagine him shouting "Vote Rylan!" during the performance as Robbie did
