Time for Xfactor to be axed?
I hope the show gets axed next year, it has run its course IMO. The need for all of the mentor banter and alleged falling out etc smacks of desperation on a sinking ship.
Why can Simon et al not put their heads together and give us something fresh and new to feast on instead of the same old, same old garbage. The fun, shock factor and everything else that made the early series of the shows no longer exists and we cold all esily write the scripts. |

Yup!
It should be replaced with a good old fashioned no-nonsense SINGING competition. By all means have 'mentors' for each of the acts and a set of impartial critics, but no 'teams' and no 'judges'. Publics vote decides and it can be done free online! |

X Factor? No, its figures atm are around the same as they were in the old days.
I would have thought a really popular show adds to its fan base not simply clings on to them by their fingernails. |

The formula is tired and yes IMO it should be axed.

It still makes good money for ITV, and it is good entertainment, trouble is people take it far too seriously and start throwing their toys out if their favourite gets the boot. Just enjoy it for what it is. The good ones get a record deal anyway.

If its the same numbers then it aint going anywhere as the population has soared since the early days I would have thought.
I would have thought a really popular show adds to its fan base not simply clings on to them by their fingernails. In terms of ratings this one is in the middle of the pack. It isn't a flop by any means and is still one of the most watched shows on TV, it is just underperforming in comparison to the last 2-3 years which were amongst some of the most watched shows in years. The reason why this year is a perceived flop is because X Factor broke and set its own records, ultimately setting the bar for itself that it was never always going to continue achieving. But it does need a massive kick up the backside next year. |

Same old rubbish on this forum every single year. More tiresome then the format they are complaining about.
Why call for something to be axed, don't like it don't watch it |

They should end XFactor next year and then maybe bring back Pop Idol or Popstars The Rivals. Both those shows havent been on air for 10 years and people might like seeing them back on tv again. XFactor needs to be rested, Itv cuold bring it back in 10 years if they want to.

X Factor needs to be reformed - not axed.

They need to go back to what worked before , i liked it when there was just one room 4 judges and 1 auditionee.
Cowell needs to be back on the judging panel , Louis needs putting out to pasture , Cheryl and Dannii need to come back to , if not those 2 Geri Haliwell or Mel B would be good choices , Robbie Williams would be a great replacement for Louis if he was up for it. |

I don't think it needs to be axed they just need to change it up.
And look at where it worked and at what points did they have the most viewing. |
