Would Dierdres absence be felt if she did leave Corrie?
Reading the article about Anne Kirkbride insisting that she will never quit Coronation Street, do you think Dierdre Barlow would be missed if she ever did leave Corrie?

I like Deirdre, so I'd miss her. The thing I don't like about Deidre is how she treats Tracy and lets her get away with things.

Okay so she gets a lot of abuse on here and her crying scenes are painful to watch but I must admit I really would miss her. She is an integral part of the show so to answer your question yes her presence would be greatly missed!

Its time for Dreary to get the sack
As the title says, I wish Dreary was either fired or axed because I can't stand her. All she does is go around smoking and moaning about Ken.
Unless she gets a complete transformation, I think its time Dreary is axed (and take wooden Ken with you.) Its sad to see how bad Anne Kirkbrides character has become, 40 years ago she was such a great character and now shes just awful. Time to get her out. |

I like Deirdre, so I wouldn't want her to leave. Ken, Rita, Dennis and maybe Emily I would loved them to leave

She's my favourite old timer on the show. Gail I like when she gets serious storyline, can't stand her comedy routines and the others don't do much for me.

I would love to see Deirdre finally reach her limit with Traceyluv.
I think that's possibly the only interesting storyline left for her. |

No it's not.
I think she's hilarious. I know she isn't the best actress but it's only a soap so I don't care aslong as they have a certain charm actors in soaps can get away with not being Kate Winslet or whoever. |

She should be killed off in a violent manner. Platty bludgeoning her with a concrete block would be acceptable to me, as long as we could hear the screams.

I honestly wouldn't care if she left.
I can't see any potential storylines in her that would even take her through the next year, the writers obviously can't either that's why we're back to square 1 with the whole mistrusting Ken story, which has been on a loop for the last decade or 2, either that or the same scene of her making something dodgy for tea to try and annoy Ken. I don't think she adds anything to the show anymore and it's sad that I would rather see Ken hook up with someone else. |

I think that Deirdre should be either axed or given an extended break.
The character has simply not recovered from the Tracy-is-a-murderer-and-Deirdre-knows-about-it stuff. Deirdre should have a full mental breakdown (something which she has had long ago in her distant past on two separate occasions) and go missing. Like absolutely vanish off the face of the earth one day and nobody knows where she is. She can either go to Spain to stay with Liz or do something crazy like go to Morocco to seek solace from Samir's memory. This would give Anne Kirkbride a nice long holiday and also give the character a good length of time to be rested and recover from the ghastly decision to turn her daughter into a killer in the first place. When I say an extended break I mean 1 year to 18 months at the very least, possibly longer. |
