Clearly these acts know themselves and their strengths better than what the executive producers and expert mentors like to tell us all. All the acts suddenly become woeful when they get to live shows.
Ella, great audition. Solid through the whole process - live shows and they start dressing her like an old woman and all her song choices have been horrid. James - Cannot command such a stage. Not right for this competition anyway. So moot point with him. Jahmene - Song choices. Never good. Never right. District 3 - Forced choreography. Way too High School Musical, a distance from their original audition where they sang Boys II Men and clearly value technical ability over xfactor camp faux entertainment. Union J - Bleurgh. Tried to appear hip and different as Triple J. Now stand around in raincoats singing about lovely ladies. Even went to the length of adding in a Harry Styles lookalike. Chris - lol Kye - Really good audition, I don't know what's happened. WHY IS EVERYBODY SHIT!! |

It's the same year in and year out. I used to blame Yvie Burnett and the stylists but now I think it is all entirely down to the canteen staff.

Just take a look at Christopher, do you seriously believe Christopher would choose the big coats to wear when he obviously looks like the sort of bloke who loves a sun tan and the beach. It just doesn't make any sense.
The producers get them to dress in a way which follows a certain point of view they want them to appear to be like on live TV. |

![]() Generally I agree, it seems instead of nurturing the flame of talent inside contestants they just seem to turn them into circus freaks for some reason. Very odd. Granted, I don't believe it's all bad, and maybe it's because of limitations of the show, the expectations of the audience maybe? Honestly I find it hard to come up with a reasonable explanation to account for the failure of these *ahem* "experts".

I've always wondered why they dress Ella like an eight year old going to a birthday party?

I wouldn't blame the judging panel. They're not really mentors in my eyes, more like cheerleaders.

The thing is they are not all crap. They got through for a reason (apart from Rylan who was put through to cause gossip etc). The problem is a poor job from the mentors whose egos are too so big that they believe they are constantly correct in their decisions and choices.
Louis Walsh for example has no idea what he is doing. He proved that in previous seasons when selecting acts such as Wagner. I am actually surprised he can even dress himself but would he ever even consider accepting that he is incorrect? Not a chance. Want to know how to take an artist with a good voice and turn them into something over commercialised and unrecognisable? Watch the X Factor judges

Yeah Ella was my fave by a mile in the audition stages. Yet I havent seen one show from her since the lives that has made me take much notice :S
Seems to be awful song choice after awful song choice, and her styling is ridiculous too...not that that matters much in the grand scheme of things like. |

But unlike Janet, Ella isn't being criticised by a judge every week, and it's week 7 (nearly) and she still remains favorite to win, I think this time last year everyone had a feeling Little Mix would win
