I just use a trusted eBay seller. Got a number of phones unlocked for 99p in around 3 hours.
Normally sites charge £5 plus so I'd recommend that way unless anyone has a better way. Also if you head over to xda you can unlock a certain number of phones for free by following a tutorial. |

Because its a new phone im not sure if there is a free way to unlock it.
Send a message to this guy and ask if he can unlock the desire x. If he says yes pay the 99p and you'll get the unlock code in 24 hours Max. |

That's to unlock the bootloader, not to unlock the phone to accept other Sims.
