I think that backs up her/his point that there is a fair bit of that on the Forum.”

glad you called in jam

I wouldn't worry about Victoria. Brendan tells all his partners not to look at messageboards because of all the celeb bashing so hopefully she will have taken his advice and will be blissfully ignorant

Interesting that the appreciation threads are marginalised and the unappreciation thread mainstreamed,

Particularly when unappreciation takes up much of the other threads.

Oh and let's not forget how much poster unappreciation there is (I won't use the term fm).

It helps if you stick to facts when stating an opinion. It also helps if criticism is constructive. Otherwise it's likely that negativity will be met with negativity aka a dose of your own.

that thread is bizarre, they gripe away about everyone and everything and they go on and on about their ovaries as if they had a functioning one between them.

That's possibly the bitchest comment I've seen on the entire forum. Congratulations.

I have found that Ktistina is taking a lot of stick at the moment which is not fair.

It looks like an agenda. Pointless but fun for the people who are following it.

A sense of humour helps if you drop into that thread.

You find it bizarre, yet you continue to read it.
THAT's bizarre

Definitely

I do like the fact no-one pounces on posters for saying anything less than complimentary about their favourite

Good counterbalance for the App threads

I think it's an agenda. Most of the main board is full of it.

I was going to post a defence of the Non-App thread, but then I thought 'What;s the point?'. You either have the capacity to understand, or you don't. And if you lack the capacity you will never, ever get it. I and my fully functioning ovaries shall go elsewhere.

True, I'm not one to go out of my way to find offense. As a general rule though reality contestants are fair game, fellow FMs are not - the T&Cs seem to back this up.

If you make a slightly critical remark about someone another poster thinks is wonderful, you can get personal insults thrown at you.
If you say you think there's a "little too much" of (whatever) someone is sure to say, "I s'ppose you'd only be happy if there were none at all!"
It's being presented with what I call, "a typical feast or famine alternative."

There's some on here who think "their role in life" is to protect people on TV from adverse comments from other licence payers. When if the truth be known those people on TV wouldn't really be bothered about their support.

Anyone can say anything they like about anything or anyone on TV, as far as I am concerned as long as it is within the board rules. I can never understand anyone worrying about my opinions when I'm not at all bothered if their opinions are the complete opposite to mine, why should I care?”

This. The problem very often is posters overlaying their own sensibilities over remarks and then reading their own prejudices/pre-conceived ideas into them which then justifies them, in their own view, to come over all self righteously indignant. Usually without them going to the bother to find out if the original poster was meaning what they have read into it.

The laughable ones are those who take their adoration of someone to such heights that no negativity of any kind can be justified, often trolls who love to just love to stir that wooden spoon so that those waiting to be offended will jump in and offload their stored up sensibilites onto an unsuspecting poster. Job done for them.

Then their are the hypocrites who are so offended by what someone has said they feel it is entirly justifiable to give back in kind and see no irony in that.

Fortunately most posters have more sense than sensibility and the trolls/hypocrites and overly sensitive are in the minority.

I think if you actually read the thread with any understanding, you'd realise the 'ovary' comments are ironic - summarising what some other posters conclude about the contributors on the thread.

However, it's nice to know that you have an intricate, almost stalker-like knowledge of the posters on the non-app thread. You know the contibutors are infertile, or post menopausal? Well done, as actually the only information that really comes across is that all contributors on the thread, male or female (yes, there are both!) are intelligent, literate and share a common respect for each other.

The thread is actually positive in that the contributors agree about a large number of of the issues raised, but when they don't they can agree to disagree and respect each others points of view without it decending into an argument or a passive/aggressive dialogue. The thread is witty and jokey, so I'm sorry you don't understand the subtext of the content of the thread - it's obviously not a place you'd feel at home in as the conversation is obviously over your head. I'm surprised you bother to lurk at all, in fact!

Why shouldn't there be negative threads? I fail to understand why celebrities should be treated with 'kid gloves'. They put themselves in the limelight I hadn't noticed Wiggins getting a hard time on here - Oh he isn't in the contest go figure.

ITA. What is really annoying is the posters that feel they are the protectors of certain celebs, no matter how crap they are in their chosen arena. They get very worked-up at criticism. But if you look at past comments by these forum members, they are quick to slag off other celebs. One had a go at me even though they have made posted comments calling certain actors ‘loathesome and useless’. Pot-meet-kettle! And I have to say the vast majority of TV stars wouldn’t spit on the forum ‘protectors’ if they burst into flames. A lot of hypocrisy around on times.

Bloody Wiggins. Why isn't he on Strictly? Lazy, single-minded, privacy-wanting cyclist he is .
