Have held off upgrading and wonder what people's experiences are with the upgrade. Have always had some problems with dropped wifi and am nervous of making that worse. Feedback would be appreciated.

It's a great update, If you don't mind losing the Google Maps and YouTube apps.

I regret updating to iOS 6 because those were two my favourite apps.

I don't miss the YouTube app which was no better than the web version, and the iPhone YT app from Google is better due to the fact that not so many videos are restricted.

In maps they've started correcting a few things and added road numbers. Still a way to catch up with Google maps though.

My opinions of cause.

iOS 6 works fine on iPad 2. I do miss the YouTube App though, never really used any maps on my iPad. I do find my iPad crashes more than it used too, and the browser is definitely more unstable than how it was.

I could see NOTHING in IOS 6 to make me want to upgrade for the foreseeable future - and plenty of reasons not to! At least on an IPad - most improvements in IOS 6 seemed more targetted at iPhones.

The 6.0.1 upgrade screwed my iPad2 up yesterday. Got stuck in recovery mode and had to restore it to the factory settings

I also had to restore to factory settings on my iPad 3rdGen but 6.0.1 eventually installed.

I'm an IT consultant and I've had no end of issues with people who have upgraded devices to IOS6. Its been an absolute disaster when connecting to WPA2-protected wifi networks. ie. it just doesn't connect at all. I would recommend anyone to not upgrade to iOS6 until a fix has been confirmed working across the board.

I've never had so many complaints about an OS on any platform (relatively, based on installed base).

Doesn't 6.0.1 supposedly fix that?it was in the list of bug fixes.

Yup, that was one of the bugs listed.

Never had the problem myself, though, with iOS6... I use WPA2 at home without issue with my iOS6 iPad and iPhone.

That was fixed in 6.0.1, but still see some are reporting problems.

Not had or seen anyone with this problem Myself.
I bought this up for discussion at an app meeting yesterday and noone had seen it.
It was mentioned that it seemed to be more of a problem with the the iPhone 4s,5 and iPod touch wifi on encypted networks rather than iPads.

6.1 is now in beta, so expect another update soon.

Glad to see this thread, I still haven't updated. I keep checking online, and there still appear to be issues. Mainly wifi connection problems, but others claim that they get less battery life after updating. Trouble is, I'm so pleased with the way it currently works, I would be really upset if an update ruined it. If it ain't broke etc...

Yeah, I immediately contacted some clients when 6.0.1 came out and asked them to update. Some are still having issues, though, so I wouldn't call it a solid fix.
