Do we need highly paid celebrity acts on the results show

I think more pro dancers demonstrating dances would be appreciated by the audience and I dare not think what it costs to secure them AB is good but others have been dire, and the money they would save could be added to the pros fee (which is very low compared to their contribution to the show)

I could happily do without any 'star acts' except maybe for the Grand Final.

Agree. I would much prefer to see pros doing dances every week. Maybe each week they could showcase how each dance should be done, Vincent and Flavia doing the AT, Anton and Erin doing the Quickstep etc.

I enjoy most of the highly paid celebrity acts. I enjoy all the negative threads less so though.

They are being paid?!!
I would have thought that with 9 million viewers watching, the publicity would be payment enough
Scissors Sisters were dire and annoying, as was Paloma Faith

I would rather watch more pro dances - it is a dancing competition after all. Quite often when the 'big' acts are on singing I go and make a cuppa!

Half the attraction of this programme for me is the pro dancers routines.
The inclusion of these non-dance related "guests" is just blatant ratings chasing,
We were short changed (again) this week.

There is more than enough talent in SCD without having 'celebrity acts' taking up precious time and in fact, quite a few have been awful.

you are so right and is probably why nearly all applaud the accompanying dancers at the end of their songs

so do we have to go through the whole show with cheshire cat grin on our faces to suit people like yourself ow tedious and boring it would be if we lived up to the age and intellectual profile the BBC think they are aiming at

Yes, they aren't paid to appear. In some cases, they also have to meet the cost of their production (eg dancers, any extra lighting rigging etc) themselves.

I've quite enjoyed most of the performers this series - they've done a good job of getting a variety of acts to appeal across the wide range of ages that watch the show.

I don't mind celebrity acts, but I don't want to see their dancers plod their way through it.

I don't have a problem with them appearing, but I think it should be insisted that the pros choreograph a dance to it - either all of them, a gorup or a pair. I also think it would be beneficial for us non-experts to see what sort of dances the music could be used for.
