Interesting news. I'm looking forward to hearing the first single! I wonder will Sarah Harding eventually do a solo album? I know she did a couple of solo songs before, they were on one of the St Trinian's soundtracks.

I'm actually not sure if my love for Kimberley outweighs my hatred of showtunes. I really like her voice and I'm pleased she's doing something solo, but I don't know if I can subject myself to listening to this .

Her best bet would be to do a dance pop record she could do quite well in that route..

Well she's been recording with Louis Dearman today who has just taken over playing Elphaba is Wicked on London so obviously has a huge set of lungs - not sure how Kimberly will sound next to that!

There are very few modern pop stars who I hold in high regard, but Kimberley seems to be very down to earth and a genuinely nice person.

She is absolutely stunning as well, and her beautiful figure makes a change from the million stick-thin singers out there.

Those songs were really boring though. No contemporary spin on them or anything - I Know Him So Well? After Susan Boyle had sung it as well with Peter Kaye?

It depends on the songs and if she puts a modern spin on them.

Kimberley is the worst vocalist in Girls aloud (yes, a worse vocalist than Cheryl). She clearly can't trust her voice to ruin original songs, she has opted for covers

Taken from POPJUSTICE this reveals that there will be a single and video to go alonside the release and that there will also be some original material aswell:

Disingenuous real music aficionado Dermot O’Leary is partly responsible for Kimberley Walsh’s forthcoming solo album.

“Dermot actually told me I should do a solo album about 10 years ago,” she told Daily Star Playlist, which we imagine is an exaggeration otherwise imagine how different the pop landscape would be.

Apparently the rest of Girls Aloud are “really excited about the album”, which will include original songs, as well as lots of covers of songs from musicals.

But what’s Walsho most excited about?

“I’m most excited about the video because we’re just choosing the first single at the moment.”

So there you have it.

that is actually not bad to be fair, pretty competent vocally. i am not feeling the emotion though. musical songs are pretty tricky to cover, because people will remember the story lines and that song in particular requires vulnerability.

her voice has improved though and i would like to see her getting more theatre work eventually.
