Steak sandwich Ideas?
It's not something I really eat. How do you make yours?

Thinly slice the steak, then fry it. Let it cool for a bit.
In the meantime, get a nice crusty baguette, a bit of president butter, and fill it with rocket and freshly shaved parmesan, then add some mayo (I like either horseradish or aioli), then add the steak. Eat. Sometimes I will add some caramelised onions too, but it depends how I feel. |

Usually with mushrooms and mustard on a toasted garlic ciabatta (rubbed with a garlic clove once toasted). Sometimes I like to throw a little harissa into the mix too, just to spice things up a bit.

I agree with Caldari about the toasted garlic ciabatta. I tend to spread it with Dijon mustard, and will add fried onions, or grilled mushrooms or sometimes thinly sliced cheddar or other hard cheese so that it melts a little in the heat ot the meat.
Rather than thinly sliced sandwich steak, I use rump steak about 1.5 cms thick and cooked rare. Sometimes I'll top with a fried egg. |

Crusty bread or ciabatta, lots of good quality butter, let steak settle onto bread and all juices to soak in [a smidge of ketchup is optional!]

The best steak sandwich ever - read it and weep :)
You will need:
1 Ciabatta Roll (as you like it ie: with olives etc) 1 medium size rump steak (400-500g) Dijon Mustard Fresh Salad Leaves 1 Lemon Fresh Rosemary Salt and Ground Black Pepper Olive Oil Method: Put the steak in a bag, salt and pepper it and squeeze half a lemon into the bag. Chuck in a handful of rosemary, shake it up and then bang the steak flat with a rolling pin or similar. Heat a large pan with a little olive oil and fry the steak both sides until medium. While the steak is cooking cut the ciabatta and drizzle both sides with olive oil and a smear of dijon mustard. Place the salad leaves on the bottom of the roll. Once the steak has cooked, cut into strips, place onto the salad leaves on the roll. Squeeze the other half of the lemon into the pan juices and heat for 45 secs. Pour onto the top of the steak. Place the top of the roll onto the steak. Enjoy. |

I will have to try these other recipies. Here what I ended up doing.
Marinated a sirloin in pepper, worchestishire sauce and some reggae reggae sauce for an hour. Toasted a ciabatta spread mayo on the bottom sprinkled some lambs lettuce and red chard. fried the steak, let it rest them cut it into strips added some leerdammer on top. Mixed some reggae sauce with ketchup and spread that on top of the ciabbatta. Demolished it. YUM YUM

Fillet steak, peppered, and cooked rare. Then slice thinly and pop in between 2 slices of buttered whole grain bread with lettuce and tomato. Dijon mustard, mayo and ketchup are optional but I usually have all three!

Steak, fried tomatoes, onions, mushrooms. Roll of choice with butter it, add lettuce to bread or roll, add everything, mustard on steak, dash of lea & perrins. Ahhh
make sure the steak has some pan juices still on it.

I do steak and chips, put half of them inside a really nice baguette with a little bit of mustard or harissa. Eat the rest on the plate as normal.

There's a place near me that does a nice steak salad sandwich; steak, onion, tomato, coriander with either Garlic or Chilli sauce on Psomi (Greek country) bread.
