I'm getting kind of fed up reading things here and there from people who dislike G4 (most of them Steve supporters).
G4 fans are getting called all sort of names by them and they also wish G4's failure.

Now, I know that if G4 had won, I WOULDN'T be going around wishing Steve to fail (hell, I don't even do it now that he's won!). Steve himself never said a bad thing about G4 and G4 handled the fact that they came 2nd with great dignity. If only Steve's fans could follow his example.

Also, coming to the title of this thread, I believe (and really want) G4 to release an album fairly soon. If we go by the fact that the vote was almost split in the final, that would mean that roughly 40+% of voters are G4 supporters and a great number of them would love to buy their album. Why do we have to wait 3 months? I would understand it if G4 had gotten less than 10% of the vote, but it's been strongly suggested that this isn't the case.

So, good luck to Steve with his career, but I think it's only fair if we, G4 fans, had the chance to buy their albums soon as well. The fact that they were signed so quickly after the end of the show proves, IMO, that there is a market for them out there and the record label bosses realise that the boys have a lot of support out there. I wish they put this realisation into action and get the boys into the studio soon.

Btw, I read in a magazine today (heat I think) that Tabby actually went into the studio with Mark Hudson a few days ago, to record his first single. Haven't heard anything about Rowetta or Cassie, but I hope they do too as they seem to have a large fanbase also.

Concluding, and as I said in another post, if the demand I've had from people after I posted that I have all the G4 mp3s is anything to go by... then their album sales should be very good. I don't understand why Steve's supporters get so touchy about G4 getting signed and releasing an album! Is it insecurity about their fave's abilities and future career compared to G4? Because the "why have we voted?" excuse simply doesn't sound believable/honest to me

No problem with G4 releasing a record. But it is too soon. The rules stipulated a 3 month period and it is only fair on Steve if this is upheld.

As far as the contract is concerned, It hasn't yet been confirmed by anyone so I would wait to see what happens.

I hope the G4sters get their boys' CD soon

That's a bit mean, Mocha, the vast majority of us Stevettes would be well chuffed to see G4 doing well, but the thing is there was a huge big Simon Cowell fuss about only the winner getting signed, which, if reports are to be believed, is not the case.

I'm with munta on this one, though, nothing has yet been officially confirmed, just Louis sounding off as usual :yawn:. Not to say it WON'T be confirmed, but it is only fair that they stick to the three month rule that EVERY contestant signed.

Steve's in is the bag. There are NO doubts....if you like Steve, then you're guaranteed some published music.

I like Steve and so does Mr Zip...so we will buy his CD. However, I really want Tabby's music; so the rest of us (that didn't have Steve as our fav) sit waiting for rumour and promise of a deal.

I just think of the huge disappointment that some of the nicest peeps here (Sals and wee-ding-dong) feel when after a year...still no Susanne Manning release. Everyone was convinced that Soose would get a deal...and many of us (I did say 'us' !) hope that she still will.

Look at Sam Nixon?? I loved Sam last year. Now...nothing.

We just need to realise that part from Steve, there are no givens here (yet). I REALLY hope that G4, Tabby, Cassie and Rowetta get deals...for them and the people here...(and me too!).

From what I have read on this forum and also in certain music papers G4 have signed a record deal with Sony and is suppose to be much better than the one Steve got. Their first single will be released, but not until March after the X Factor Tour. Liked G4 I hope they do a cover version of Bohemian Rhapsody and do release it as a single. It would be good.

Fair on Steve in what sence? It's not as if people will buy either Steve's or G4's. They both have their own fanbase. Simon did say that only the winner'd be signed, but I translated that as meaning "by his label".

As far as G4's contract, I agree with you. I wish that someone else (apart from Louis) would confirm it, if that is indeed the case.

As far as the rest of your post, as I said above, it was a close final (almost 50-50) so if we speak as fans here, it is unfair on us, to have to wait 3+ months to buy a G4 cd, because it'd be unfair on Steve... I just don't see how it would affect him as their fanbases are different...

Agreed about them being different fan bases but it is about taking the gloss off of his win.

And as far as Simons Label - I don't believe he actual owns a label - he is part of the Sony/BMG stable otherwise he would be in competition with his employers

I mean shouldn't we all be happy now? Steve won, so his fans should be over the moon! The G4 boys have got (still rumoured according to many) a recording deal themselves, Tabby is in the studio recording a single.... so we're all winners (as fans). It was all about the music, as far as we're concerned (since we don't get a cut of the money they'll get) and it'd only be fair if the rest of us got buy our fave's album too...

Btw, I loved Susanne also and I was dissapointed that she didn't release an album...

and I also agree with frappa, we should all be happy with what we have got out of it
our faves have got or will get record deals and we will be able to buy their music
therefore we should all be exstatically happy and not bother each other about who won and who has the bigger, better record deal etc.

And also, those threads are anti-G4. I am a G4 fan and I would LOVE to be able to buy their cd soon. I spent a lot of money voting for them and as I said in the original post, I would understand it if the results were not close, but since they were, why should G4 fans be "punished" with having to wait 3+ months? G4 releasing an album won;t affect Steve in any way! You guys are so sure that he's so brilliant anyway so I don't understand why this negativity even now

Yep - thats the arguments going about that G4 do not yet have a contract and especially with Song/BMG. Although good luck to them when they do.
