They didnt have normal bread rolls just stuff seasoned with Rosemary and Garlic which the taste felt like my Mouth was burning the Cream cheese dip/spread that came with it looked like it had already been eaten.
The Chips where Boiling hot (but nice once cooled) the Orange Juice was horrible.

and the worst thing was i was Sick straight after eating the chips.

I dont know if it was my personal dislike or i was unwell or just dodgy food?”

Why would they have normal bread rolls at an Italian restaurant? If something looked like it had already been eaten, why in god's name didn't you send it back?! I certainly wouldn't have continued to eat it. It sounds like you had a bug rather than the food being off.

I didnt eat any of the dip because of the look of it

Bread seasoned with rosemary and garlic (possibly focaccia?) sounds really nice IMO

Ergo you paid for something that you didn't think looked edible. Now that's just plain silly.

It depends where you are in the country.

TGI in one town can be great, in another it is horrible.

Nando's is by FAR the WORST restaurant to ever exist.

In my opinion, obviously!

Totally agree. Really don't get the hype at all.

Nandos, i just loved there hot chicken and fries, and corn

Garkunkles: pizzas are so good, and salads are good too

Worst for me are......

Pizza hut, seems old fashioned now and full of chavs scoffing the buffet. shame really

Home made / Hand made / Goumet Burger types of chain, all over priced and they somehow think a burger is worth a tenner”

If its home made and good then its worth a tenner.

I also used to love Harry Ramsden's, but haven't been to one in years! Do they still even exist?

The worst is TGI Fridays! Service is too slow and it's overpriced imo and not a lot of choice on the menu!

Any pizza restaurants are also no-goers for me as I hate pizza, and sometimes the smell of the strong cheeses while walking past make me feel sick!”

Harry Ramsdens whent downhill when they stopped using dripping, not many left now.

I only went to Strada once and it was awful, terrible service and the seafood risotto I ordered was dry and mealy with about 2 prawns in it. My favourite chain restuarant is Bella Italia but even that's a hit or a miss. Pizza Hut is just disgusting and Pizza Express is McDonalds for middle class "yummy mummys" who ignore Jasper and Colista peeing all the other diners off whilst they get hammered on pino grigio. Tesco vouchers have a lot to answer for!!

only problem i have with nandos is the price

all of the chains - it would be my fave but the competition is quite poor.

i think it is a bit overrated -- all we are talking about here is a grilled piece of chicken in some peri sauce, well done to them though -- they have done well.

My work do was at a carvery this year and as a foodie and actually enjoyed it. Decent yorkshire puds, decent meat, great selection of gravies and sauces, decent potatoes (roast and mash), still tasty veg.

Usually its a tenner.

Hm, theres a problem with this thread subject. Though it has been enjoyable, topical and fascinating to read.

And the problem is that all the chains mentioned above are actually franchised. So if one went to a particular chain in one place it could be absolutely crap, but in another it could be the best you have ever had. IMHO, it all depends on the staff and how well each franchise is run, in regard to how good of bad one finds it.

All of them? There are several chains mentioned above that are definitely not franchised.

Best- strada, carluccio's, Raymond blanc's, zizi's, subway and I do like a bit of dirty in the form of a KFC!

Worst nando's, smith and western, and any pizza place but only as I hate pizza.
