I did think something that was quite striking yesteday was that Christian suddenly looked older...weighed down but contrastingly Syed looked years younger than he has recently. That hoodie and black jacket help but he was full of hope and it showed, he just looked so young again after weeks of being so weighed down himself.Maybe they meant the contrast to emphasize as towers has said...Christian has had so much more relationship experience...has made his mistakes and Syed is that much younger and is still prone to making some. Obviously I don't think that fits canon but I wondered if it was deliberate. A bit like when Syed left his family for Christian, he looked like an adorable ragamuffin that day who needed a little bit of help breaking away.

Yeah Christian turned 40 this June but they didn't show it! We never got proper confirmation on how old Syed is! My guess is he turned 28 this April!

No, didn't know. I just love Torchwood, but they are a complicated bunch, aren't they. And yes about Gwen and yes yes yes about Russell T Davis and the rest. But, we did get overly attached to soap characters, and this is the price. Never again will I love a soap character.

I've got to admit I did see chemistry
and even in little scenes like the one when Syed was handing out takeaways and he said to Danny 'Back again?' And Danny said 'you do that ' when Syed said he'd plate it up. And at the time it was lacking from Syed and Christian as I suppose it was meant to be. I don't think Syed was any more than flattered and a bit disarmed by his attention then, when he was feeling so low about his life and problems, but I actually liked those scenes.But I think it's ok even if for a short time Syed was attracted to Danny.. so were Roxy and Christian and of course sleeping with him was bad no question but it has actually reaffirmed how he feels about Christian. If it's a mistake too far then so be it (I don't think it will be of course) but I do think in the latest scenes we have got the chemistry back with Syed and Christian. Now for me I just need the dialogue to go with it!

Yes, I also saw the chemistry and again, there had been no such scenes with Chryed for some time. But I haven't yet seen the chemistry back between our two and I have a feeling that ain't gonna happen on Thursday either. Which is a pity, because that was what always kept them going.
BTW, 2 gay male friends of mine just loved the Danny-Syed scenes.

I think Chryed will always remain my first love - Janto my second, Gwen and Rhys fit so well together too - and I'm never getting this attached to a pairing again. :sleep: John and Marc bounce off each other so well because really, Christian and Syed are so different, they shouldn't work.

Yes, my first and best loves, too. I never saw that Janto was such a great love. It was sexy and tender, but never went very far and for most of the time, Jack really loved Gwen. She loves him, too, but Rhys is the one who offers her stability and certainty.
Well, Christian and Syed do not work now, do they? I was just reading in other forums (fora). There are many people who see them as redundant, that their story was about an issue, that it was all done and dusted in 2010, and that they are very pleased that they are leaving. They dislike Syed (one person mentioned his lovely voice
). And there are people who love Derek.What's interesting is the real venom people have in their dislike of Syed. Honestly, to dislike him over Derek demonstrates to me that EE really failed in fleshing him out and making him sympathetic. And that saddens me, too.
I guess, despite my sorrow about tomorrow, all of this makes me begin to accept that it is best they go.

Hello who me?
I have never been worried about Syed being attracted to Danny. However much you love your partner, we are still attracted to others at points in our life's. But I just did not see anymore then Syed being flattered, which is normal especially when you feel low. Until that night and in the AB on the stag night.
The whole exit story has not worked for me, I understand the ideas behind the storyline but ..........:sleep:

Totally agree! Danny's chat up lines made me feel a little bit sick to be honest, they were so cringe! Just thinking about it makes me shudder a bit, and that's genuinely not just because I'm a Chryed shipper. I just saw no chemistry between them at all. Marc was brilliant in the scene where Syed kissed Danny, making up for what I thought was a downfall on Gary's part (
) but you can't forge chemistry where there is none. I'm really not having a dig at Gary Lucy here btw, I thought he was really good in later scenes where he was threatening Syed etc, but it kind of came across to me that he wasn't ready to play a gay role.Also Danny treated Syed with no respect at all; preying on him when he knew he was vulnerable, heavily trying it on with him when he knew he was engaged, and then trying to break up his relationship with Christian. I know some people here are annoyed with Christian at the moment but something he's always done is give Syed the choice when it mattered. Danny couldn't even afford Syed that respect, and as a fan of Syed I wouldn't want someone like Danny anywhere near him under any circumstances.

bib 1 - Slimy is the perfect word to describe him. He always made my skin crawl
bib 2 - That makes no sense to me either. Unless we're supposed to believe Syed's just plain horny and not getting any at home so he has to go looking elsewhere. But, when you live with Sex God Clarkey, not getting any at home seems very unlikely.

If Syed had met Danny years ago, Danny wouldn't have stuck around while Syed tried to cope with the complex emotional situation he was in, while Syed proposed to and married a woman, while he rejected him and went through 'therapy' to cure himself....etc etc....Syed wouldn't have seen Danny for dust! Christian was the only person who loved and cared about Syed enough to cope with all that heartbreak, to have the faith that their love would one day win out

“Totally agree! Danny's chat up lines made me feel a little bit sick to be honest, they were so cringe! Yeah Danny had no respect for him at all....and also he stole £6000 from him...so he clearly didn't really want a relationship with him...he was just some con artist! For Danny it was all about games and power. For Christian, it's always been about honesty and love.
