Teapot, this. I would have loved Christian and Syed stay longer but there was no guarantee that their talents would be utilised, or worse, given another horrific storyline. Thank god they left when they did. Kat for example has only been in the show for two years (on return) and has already been unfaithful three times. I'd hate if we saw Syed become a serial adulterer with no remorse. The ONS was bad enough - and believe me, I still hate that this happened - but it all happened in the space of three weeks and not, IMO, enough to cause any long term damage to them as a couple, and my memory as a fan. If say Marc and Johnny stayed longer and endless fidelity happened, it would have completly ruined them for me. At least we can say that 70% of their story over the last 3 and a half years was very good, some parts blinding excellent and it was only really the last month of the last two years, that caused the most damage. Thankfully not enough for me to turn away from the thread and this place - which unfortunately happened for the Kat and Aaron appreciation threads, which were once as fast as we were.
Like I said before though, 5, 10 years down the line fans, of Chryed and EE alike will remember Chryed mostly for the amazing coming out story, which we saw of Syed. A ground breaking story with themes of relgion, culture and social and oppressive attitudes, to which love triumphed over hatred and intolerance, not some last minute hatchet plot twist. |

Heartsick, sorry to see you go but I understand.
Good luck with everything and thank you for you insightful contributions to the thread. ![]() Los, I won't be watching EE tomorrow and I have no intention for at least the forseeable future. EE is the pits right now. I will keep my account open though because I've been a EE fan longer than I have been a Chryed one, and I do think at somepoint EE will make it's quality comeback so when that happens, I'll be making mine. ![]() Until then .... |

I'm feeling mainly relief that they've gone, relief that they are free and away from tptb that didnt' give a damn about them and they can live on safe and in character and happy in our fic and imaginations.
Also excited looking forward to following the next chapters in Johnny and Marc's careers which has started already with Tape and next up panto! And happy because through this fandom I have made amazing friendships which I know will live on and on despite our beautiful boys having left Walford. And finally a bit scared because I have no excuse for procrastination any more! Last 3 years of my life have been entirely submerged in fandom! Now I need to focus on my real life and working to achieve the things that matter to me...terrifyingly exciting!! |

I can't watch EE any more because I have no respect for a show that could treat it's best characters/actors so appallingly.
Which is sad because I started watching when I was 7. I'll catch up on the Masood's scenes because I love them but that's it. I don't really care about any of the other characters any way. Oh I will watch Derek's death ep. You know, just to make sure he's dead  |

Disappearing, going out... This has a frigthening resemblance to having a... life. Again; you need to tell me where I can get me one of those.
Good, looking forward to reading them! I am in no position to judge you, y'know, so... I might, just a little bit. But I love you, so it'll pass quickly.:sleep : I struggle a little bit with bitterness as well. I tend to dwell on things quite a lot, and I don't know if I'm ever really going to be able to forgive the "what-could.and-should-have-beens-but-never-was-for-no-good-reason-at-all"... I'll try, but... ![]() I may as well say now....I find the Vic ILY/handhold rather 'meh' ![]() ![]() I know I shouldn't and it's a really important scene but I don't feel much for it and I hardly ever rewatch it *ducks incoming missiles*I do really like the mutual ILY though ![]() I'll always be bitter at tptb for the missed opportunites and wasted potential, and for that awful twist. But a bigger part of me is just happy and relieved that Chryed got their happy ending Quote:
Mads, beautiful vid and beautiful comment. I think Chryed have changed our lives in a lot of ways.
I've done and did things that I never thought I would. The Chryed story has inspired me to do it. It just goes to show that fiction doesn't always have a negative influence. Sometimes, good can come out of it and I do think that's what the Chryed story achieved for lots of people, for lots of different reasons. This has been reflected in our discussions, here on this thread, but also at ChryedCon. It's been three days since thier exit and I'm no longer angry or bitter. Of course it doesn't change how I feel. I'll be ranting about this at some point again, I'm sure but I'm now in the place where I can let of the tripe of the last couple of years, more so the last couple of months. I think Chryed leaving have a lot to do with it. They've moved on, which has enabled me to. If they were still on the show, I'd be cussing, ranting, hating how they're being destoryed but its not something I have to worry about anymore. If anything, Chryed leaving has given me calm and peace. I can just remember this amazing story that EE gave us and how it brought me to this wonderful community. ... and there is so much to come! We have Panto next year and I know many of you are meeting for Johnny's hippodrome (which I can't afford) but I'm sure there will be plenty more events after that. : ) Chryed are gone but they will live on in our memories and our friendships. Dear Chryedians,
I too want to say farewell for now. This has been an extraordinary 3 1/2 years, both for the story and for the encounters here on our forum. We have had our highs and lows, our purring and our dramas, but that is all in the past. Thanks to all of you who said hello, who engaged with my posts, who made videos, wrote fiction, sent pms, all of it. I have written to delete my account - guess they will get that request tomorrow. In some ways, this is good, as I might do other things and finish my work. I am not so into pantos and the like, but who knows, I may see some of you when we hear that Marc is in a new play. I may write some fiction, and will definitely look forward to reading some. But for now, Chryed have 'got it on' and I am off to get it on, too.! With love, [No longer] Heartsick Take care!

One thing I'm dreading is logging in during the spring to hear how Janine and/or Michael have been ruined. Seriously, why have the writers not been showing Michael raising Scarlet on his own? If Janine came back and asked for the baby, I wouldn't give a sh*t if he handed her straight over or not. They just messed everything up for favour of the Brannings and Kat's shagger. Now would be the time showing Michael emotionally bonding with the baby after learning how to cope and care for her. You know, to really give a good storyline. I hate EE: they have such great characters and all they need is for someone to go into the writers' room and knock their heads together and shout "STAHP! WUT R U DOING? GO HOME, YOU'RE DRUNK!" |

Wow. This sounds epic.

It really is classic 'Enders." Seriously, seriously, they're trying to compare the two moments. What a pile of crap! |

The question on my lips has been 'Who's written this sh*t?' Oh well, I'm done with EE anyway. Btw Elphie, I agree with your point about not being able to watch the show anymore because they treated two incredible characters and actors so appallingly. |

Yes, it was rather scary  But it was only out with my mum and sister to see the Christmas market and then to see Fiddler On The Roof ![]() I may as well say now....I find the Vic ILY/handhold rather 'meh' ![]() ![]() I know I shouldn't and it's a really important scene but I don't feel much for it and I hardly ever rewatch it *ducks incoming missiles*I do really like the mutual ILY though ![]() I'll always be bitter at tptb for the missed opportunites and wasted potential, and for that awful twist. But a bigger part of me is just happy and relieved that Chryed got their happy ending Oh, dear... No I'm not going to judge you (only a tiny little bit... Done! Back to loving you dearly ) I wonder if watching the story "in retrospect" so to speak alters your perception/appreciation etc. for different scenes compared to watching it in real time? I watched it all in such a short space of time (I was rather possessed in my watching if I'm to be honest, went from First Kiss to "sexy when devious" in the space of a few days when I first found the story in March -11. Or rather, from Proper Normal scene, back to first kiss and then back to Syed's arrival and up to "Sexy...") so I sometimes have a hard time separating what I felt for different scenes the first time I watched it since they all came so close together in time. And again, I am in no position to judge, you know my secret about feeling a bit "meeh" about a genrerally totally adored scene. (if you remember...).Yup, I'll always be bitter about all of those things. I'd be interested to know what they think they actually got out of The Twist that they couldn't have gotten out of it, and in a much better way, without doing that to the characters, actors, the backstory and the writer. But basically, I'm still in the relieved and happy- camp. |

EE are really spinning this as some great story but to compare this reveal to the Kat/Zoe reveal takes it to a whole new level. FFS! You aint my muvva is what not only made Kat but was easily the best, most moving, and grittiest story of last decade. It established Jessie as an actress, not just on the soap but across TV, on a whole. That story is still talked about to this day for it's pure brilliance and taking Kat to the one dimmentional tramp she first came in as, to this mulit-layered, complex and tragic person she was and became at the end of it. Grrrr! This has really peed me off. Classic EastEnders do me a favour. Classic EastEnders was the week which saw the Slaters dominate the week over Kat's revealtion that she was Zoe's mother. Classic EastEnders are the episodes that saw Little Mo strike Trevor with an iron after years of beatings, Classic EastEnders is episodes that saw Steve Owen and Mathew Roses's murder trial, classic EastEnders is when we saw Syed confess to his mother he was gay and in love with a man, classic EastEnders is what saw Stacey suffer from bi-polar, classic EastEnders is when the nation witnessed Sharongate, the identity of Phil's shooter - all that! Kat revealing the identity of Mr Shagger is not classic EastEnders. Ahhhh!

Comparing... this... to the 'You aint my muvva" is like comparing the crown jewels with a turd on a string.
is spot on. :sleep:Actually, come to think of it, the comments about this story have been golden. That's the only thing I've enjoyed about it. |
