Interesting point! Doesn't think he deserves to be happy and that's why he messed up?
The timing really sucks for Syed )of course /plot crap) but yes I think he thinks he doesnt deserve sympathy Amira+random seem more stable to Syed than him and Christian I guess. Clearly he's not thinking straight |

Maybe that can be your task? To get to the next one before Thursday. Should be doable, you have 2 days.

But surely it's still better than Amira and some guy he's never even met?! I know Syed's very fond of Amira but he has to know she doesn't exactly have the best judgement in the world. At least with Syed, Yasmin has her grandparents, her uncles and Christian- a whole support network. With Amira, she'll have her mother and a total stranger. Syed's situation is hardly ideal, especially financially, but it's still not bad enough to hand his kid over to Amira and some guy after about a day of consideration.

Aww, now, I'm sure there's enough anger in my heart to hate both. Nothing will beat the Danny stuff though, nothing. It was appalling.
But it really annoys me too. Christian and Syed have been wonderful parents to Yasmin. And, yeah, they're not the most stable household (well, households) right now but they're still a hundred times more stable than Amira 'Flits Off On Extended Holiday For Months Before Her Daughter is 2' Shah and Mr. 'Someone'. And Syed might have a low opinion of himself, but how can he possibly think that arrangement is better for his daughter when she has been perfectly happy for the past few months with them? I find it off. Amira does deserve happiness, don't get me wrong here and I'm pleased she's moving on but I think it's rich that she can use Christian and Syed as babysitters when she wants, also her daughter forming attachments and bonds in the process, and then return wanting her daughter because she's found love. What ever happened to what's best for Yasmin? She's already been moved in her very small life and now she's going to be moved again...only this time it will be different. She's established bonds with Christian, Syed, her grandparents, her uncles and Kamil, her cousin. As we saw during yesterdays episode, she referred to Christian as "daddy". Now contact is going to be extremely limited. She'll have a new daddy (a stranger) and move to a strange city where she'll know no one, except her mother, who lets face it has hardly been there either. |

Syed comment about feeling like he was in prison was weird. So he feels tied down with Christian and Yasmin basically?
Well Christian has left and Yasmin is on the way out the door so soon he can be foot loose and fancy free. |

Christian also said something yesterday about Yasmin not needing arguing parents.

Could it be that Syed still sees a 'traditional' family set up as more appropriate and will this be part of the angst between him and Christian?

Well Christian has left and Yasmin is on the way out the door so soon he can be foot loose and fancy free. It was a very odd scene I don't think we can take much from it. Marc's delivery was bizarre. Presumably because he was wtfing over it too. |

This. I said it before and I'll say it again. I really don't know how ANY mother can leave their 1 year old to go travelling for months. I can understand a week or two but even then mothers miss their children. I'm not a mum but when my mum had to go Germany for her sisters wedding when I was little, she couldn’t take me and my sisters with her but went. However she booked herself an earlier flight to get home. She was meant to be away for two weeks but she came back in one. However to leave your one year old for months, and then to return making demands....
But Amira clearly has not given any thought about Yasmin. She thinks....oh new man to pay for me. Oh and we should have Yasmin back too cos then we'll be a proper family and I'll be oh so happy. Only she won't be cos she's just marrying some randomer she barely knows, her daughter will be unhappy being taken from her dad's and she was always a disinterested mother so she'll probably just shove Yasmin away with a nanny and have little contact. Chryed HAVE to go and live near Brum. And get custody back because let's face it, Yasmin will be raised with much more love by them and be much happier and settled. |

It's just...making me so angry that this is the message EE send out. A loving same sex couple being wonderful father's to their daughter....then the mother who never took an interest in the daughter just swoops in and takes her away. It's so infuriatingly unfair.

hey all,
congrats MH!!!! ![]() Saw the episode. EE are so 'kind' aren't they? Amira leaves on Thursday doesn't she? Bit of foreshadowing there when Syed asked Roxy if Christian left the square. I see Kat and Syed both got a scene together  both sinners married to saints and both suffered from BK's character assassinations. The bit about parenthood and prison was a bit odd for Syed but I guess it's true. Maybe his slowly realising that what he thought he felt trapped in was actually the best thing for him i.e. marriage and Christian. Zainab annoyed me and once again her deciding to leave was another thing that EE didn't really explain in this s/l because I thought Masood chucked her out. I have to say EE aren't really engaging the audience with this s/l well that's my opinion as I feel like I'm just making do and settling for scraps ![]() Also, seriously so far we had Masood, Zainab (maybe Tam) and I think even Amira telling Sy to fight for his man (ee are giving to many scenes were his being told, I want to see him doing more which he is but somemore scenes would be nice to see). However, I think Roxy gave him the best advice though by telling Syed to think carefully and properly decide what he wants before he tries to speak to Christian.
