Masood was right when he said that Syed needed to make the decision about Yasmin on his own, it wasn't Christian's decision to make because Amira and Syed are her parents. Yes, it was very wrong of Syed not to tell Christian straight away - and Masood was a bit of an arse in the way he told Syed to take responsibility - but both of her biological parents are part of her life and they're the ones who make the big decisions.

Also, Syed could have had a realistic fear that Christian would only stay in their relationship just to keep hold of Yasmin and that would have been wrong too - not saying that Christian would put Yasmin above Syed but that's something that would realistically cross Syed's mind.

Also, Yasmin is only going to Birmingham, not another country.

Like Rhumba said, I think Syed was just trying to reach out to Christian by not feeling sorry for himself too much because this has been a problem in recent weeks - it was Syed feeling sorry for himself over his failing business and Michael calling him an idiot that helped to kick-start all these problems in the first place.

For me, Syed showed clear guilt and sadness over sleeping with Danny on his stag night, even if he's not communicated this guilt to Christian very well.

It's impossible for me to read too much into this storyline...the way they've been written, I spent last year wondering why Syed was staying with Christian and these last couple of months vice versa.
I'm not sure who could get much pleasure out of all this unless you have a neverending appetite for Christian the righteous and long suffering and downtrodden Syed brought to heel once more. It's awful they are ending them like this.

Mind you I did at least think when Christian mentioned Syed had a chronic lack of self confidence we might get some wondering why that might be at some point later (I really hope Pete has written something in about that)
I mean whyever would anyone who has just escaped a life of trying to live as someone he could never be,,,who finds that so soon after being a pretty model partner despite the difficulties of being a gay muslim and living ostracized from your family bring...gets treated like he did because he didn't want to go out celebrating on his 1st wedding annivesary...totally disregarded in the choices of surrogate mum and sperm donar...thrown out for a new dream...made to feel it's a choice when his baby turns up with no regard from his partner that he might need to make it up to his ex wife (he tried to involve Christian but he was so spoilt and petulant everything was all about him..not Amira, not Yasmin. and certainly not Syed who needed to do that for Amira but also for himself)...oh and gets a one night stand flaunted at him the way he was. I know I left bits out.

And he has a lack of self confidence? Well buggar me who would have though it?

I happened to watch a Chryed clip last night while making a vid, from July this year, and it unexpectedly knocked me for six... what have TPTB done to Chryed?? They're barely even recognisable I'm actually looking forward to their exit now, never would've thought I'd say that!

Morning all. I have some great news.

I did however get the chance to watch both eps. Thursday was awful with Syed giving his child up so freely. I find it hard to believe that, no matter how far his life has gone wrong, he gave up Yasmin without any fight. If that was my children, id fight for them. Syed should fight harder, especially as Amira has been a rubbish mother in the last few months, not to mention getting engaged very quickly and Syed letting a stranger raise his child. I dont buy it sorry. Last night i couldnt concentrate on the ep but ive read your comments and i will watch it properly taking your opinion into account.

Now my news. Jayden was born at half 8 this morning. Labour lasted 46 hours. It started at 10.30 on Thursday and i was so fed up with it seemingly never ending. I was in active labour last night during the ep so i couldnt concentrate due to the immense agony i was in. My waters broke early yesterday morning and i laboured on the bed until my contractions got really close which was about 11.00 last night and i got in the birthing pool. I had a bad night. I was in so much agony and i swore a bit. The urge to push was so immense by around 5.00am this morning but i wasnt fully dialated so i had to resist which was the hardest part. When it did come to the pushing stage, i was so exhausted but with encouragement from Dan and my midwife i pushed as hard as i could. After a while, the midwife told me he was breech. He had been during my pregnancy but the midwives hoped he'd move around but he didnt. I had to push so much harder and it was a real struggle. But after a further hour of pushing Jayden finally popped out at 8.30 on the dot. He was 10lb 8oz. We are so happy and he is amazing. 10 fingers and 10 toes and he's healthy. He's sleeping now and i should probably get some sleep as well. Im just so relieved its finally over. The weird thing is he ie exactly 13 months younger than Lily. She's 10 oct' 11 and he's 10 nov' 12. I think ive also agreed to have another soon. Im exhausted so thats my excuse but i guess my kids being close in age would be good so maybe next spring/summer we'll have another go.

I just want to say, if I'd spent the last year looking after a child I was constantly being told "You are the mother" about (because Christian is being constantly told that he is Yasmin's father too) and then discovered that they'd given her away behind my back I'd freak the eff out too. After a year of being given parental rights, you can't take those rights away. It's unfair. Syed is being a dork about it.

Christian and Syed have never had full parental rights, they've just been extended baby-sitters for weeks at a time and Syed didn't even know Yasmin existed for the first year of her life - which was totally wrong of Amira but then she was living with Qadim.

The thing is, when Yasmin gets older, she's going to have to have different names for all of her dads - including Amira's new partner - and she's either got

Yadda yadda yadda but the most realistic outcome with be that she'll call Syed and Amira 'mum and dad' and Christian and Amira's new partner by their real names. It doesn't mean Yasmin loves Christian any less but it's the most practical and realistic thing to do.

I'm not sure most parents would want their young children calling them by their first names, which is why Yasmin calling Syed 'Syed' doesn't work.

I see what you're saying Towers, but my point is: Amira going travelling and leaving Yasmin with Chryed means she knows Christian is going to take a leading part of her child's life. Syed has never been shy about saying that Yasmin has two dads - his family know this without us having a scene in the show where Syed says this to them. This leads naive fools like me to believe that the same conversation has been had with Amira, off screen too. Because she seems fine with it. If she wasn't, she wouldn't have left Yasmin with them for so long. For Syed to make such a point of Christian also being Yasmin's dad, and then to give her away behind his back, is a dork move. If I was in Christian's position, I would be hella pissed. I don't see Chryed as 'glorified babysitters'. When you leave your child with his dad and his partner for an extended period of time, you have to expect that the child will bond with both.

Syed is really angry but I hope we see the anger eventually dissolve to reveal the painful heartbreak he is experiencing.

Oh absolutely, Syed giving Amira main custody without even telling Christian - or putting up much of a fight - was a silly thing to do and Christian and Yasmin will have bonded but Christian wasn't with Syed when Amira turned up ( gave up his right to Yasmin at that point ) therefore Syed as her father had to make a decision between Yasmin going to her loving mother who's now in a stable ( if very quick ) relationship and staying with her troubled father and his equally troubled relationship - at this stage in the game, it was no contest really and Masood certainly didn't help by not behaving like he really wanted Yasmin to stay, bearing in mind that Syed might have needed to rely on his parents if he and Christian didn't get back together.

Christian possibly didn't help matters either by 'joking' that he would miss Yasmin more than Syed because the last thing Yasmin needs is for either of Chryed to use her as a bargaining chip in their relationship. They haven't intentionally done that of course but they need to sort themselves out and they can't do that with Yasmin caught in the middle.

If Christian had decided not to get back with Syed but stayed in Walford anyway, he couldn't expect Syed to also stay in Walford and if he did leave, Yasmin would have needed to leave with him - Christian would still have been dependant on Syed for having contact with Yasmin.

I thought it was pretty much a given that they're leaving together. Didn't JP say something along the lines of Christian not being able to live without Syed? Or something to that extent. It would be a shame. I still can't believe the writers made this move. When they actually got together as a proper couple, my immediate thought was, I hope they never give them a 'cheating' Storyline What a silly thing to do, of all the possible plots out there they give them that. It's all EE ever do with couples now a days 'cheating' Storylines. It's become really sordid and boring if you ask me.
