I honestly thought Des was gorgeous. No one is ever that understanding with Brendan. Though I saw ally's posts on the main thread, and I agree it's a shame BB didn't tell him about the DV, or about the abuse. I'd have loved him to talk openly about the DV and how he's afraid of hurting Ste.

I don't think he's ever opened up as much as he did last night, and I think it's understandable that he didn't tell Father Des about the abuse. It's going to take a lot more to have him tell someone about it. I'm assuming when Pa comes, that's probably when he'll tell Ste about it, and not before that.

I don't know if Ste should be the first (second after Walker) to know about the abuse.

Obviously I'm thinking real life here, if poor Brendan can't say love how do you think he is going to react to saying outloud the words my Dad sexually abused me.

Not sure if Ste needs to be on the end of this.

Obviously this is HOs and Ste will calm him down after a bit of wrestling and saying I love you over and over.

Of course Ste needs to know and I can't imagine that he won't react anything other than heroically but I'm really not sure HOs are doing this justice.

My subconscious has officially outed itself as a Bralker shipper.

For the record though, Bralker vampire sex is HOT.

So sorry for such a late reply. This is the first time I've looked at the thread since this I posted last.

I do definitely see where you're coming from, of course. And I loved all the Father Des scenes. It's just to me, it makes sense that he would say the thing about his dad because after everything that's happened recently, and with the counselling pushing it, it's in his head. He knows exactly why he's so screwed up. And with Father Des, it wasn't pushed for so it's obviously easier to volunteer just a smidgen of information that actually creates a massive picture, and then let it be dropped, you know?

It's one of those things we're obviously never gonna know other way, but to me....I'm not sure he would have brought that up so easily if the counselling hadn't already put it there.

After a bit of thought on the matter I soon changed my mind about my post not long after I sent it! I think you're right Radio and that Brendan will probably see Doug and Ste all happy and will decide not to say anything about it.

I don't think they would throw away Brendan's second 'I love you' if Ste wouldn't say it back, and I like it that way
