On Ste being in a coma and the kids staying with Brendan, aren't Brendan and Doug meant to put their against each other aside for Ste's sake, so the kids could stay at Cheryl and Brendan's. Doug doesn't seem to lover them too much anyway...

He maybe has a different phone for everyday of the week the next time we see him with his mobile it will probley be a completly different one

It could be a case of them forgetting to take the right phone with them to a location or whatever. It's a bit odd though. I think if any character doesn't use a nice shiny Nokia, they don't care what they use.

I can imagine Doug getting overwhelmed by the kids and Brendan offering to help him out. Doug will probably need the help so badly he might just take him up on the offer. If their 'differences are put aside' by this point it might not be impossible to believe. Plus, Brendan may have been a terrible Dad, but his desire to be a good one is there and I believe he would definitely take amazing care of Ste's kids.

I so want it to happen now and for Ste to wake up and realize Brendan took Leah and Lucas in when always-on-the-sidelines-Doug doesn't pull through

I think it could go either way with the goodbye.

But it'd make sense if they got even just a week and some days, possibly even 2 weeks to be together post-Dublin and before Christmas. So hopefully that's what the show does and gives us before it's more angst. They need to figure out a living arrangement, life together between the kids and the club and the deli, the village's reaction, just generally what it'll be like now. Some time for us all to just enjoy the damn love. It's owed. And of course there would be those mini conflicts between them and things Brendan still need to learn that comes with relationship life to explore.
And then there's the Stug breakup aftermath they'll have to deal with too. I think Doug could be gone as long as from the airport to maybe even after New Year's, the stuff PJ could have shot with Kieron could have been out of sequence and for early January.

I did think that actually, but I suppose it just depends! Doug might try and take care of the kids himself first, but then he might realize he can't handle it and needs someones help but everyone else is too busy in the aftermath to help with kids and Brendan is the only one available and willing? It's hard to say! Don't see why they couldn't put their differences aside for that though.

I know, it seems like there is a lot to do and I'd really enjoy seeing them explore it all. I think the high likelihood is though that they won't go into a lot of detail with all that stuff.

For some reason I think they have it in their heads that exploring Stendan as a relationship might not be 'exciting' enough. Like we'll all get what we want and then be bored, so they might just go with Dublin and then almost immediately into the Pa stuff when they get back. No rest for Stendan

The thing is I think relationship Stendan would be really exciting to watch. It would be such a strange path for them and it'd be completely new and alien to Brendan. It would just be interesting watching him ease gradually into a relationship with Ste, finding it hard along the way and Ste helping him through (helping each other through) and stuff like that.

Yeah can imagine Brendan seeing this and doing that awkward laugh followed by frown face, I miss that laugh...oh I sometimes miss old Brendan an his funny moments.

Yes. They're not bringing the kids back for no reason. They are Plot Device Kids. I imagine the suggestion will come from Brendan and Doug will have to agree because he is not coping. Mind you, if Brendan is shoving off to Dublin, he's clearly not intending to be looking after them for six months. Of course, what would actually happen is that Amy would come back from Guatemala (or wherever it is), or not go there in the first place. When you are a mother, your kids have to come first, even before your new fiance that you have known for about two minutes.

If Dublin's a special, then it would air later the same night Ste gets on the plane on the main show, right?

Oh I can just imagine adorable little Ste getting off the plane and fudging-up navigating the city trying to find Brendan, with cuts to Brendan existentially wandering, and then the big turn from gazing out at the river to see Ste on the bridge at night... and what if he's doing the padlock for them by himself at first, but Ste finds him at that perfect moment they can finish it together?

And then I assume they'd return the very next episode on the main show, but there'd have to be a time skip to accomodate the 2 days or so they would have been in Ireland.

Daft question but did we ever figure out what emmett's stable rash tweet was in reference to? Or was it just to lead us into thinking he's been filming kissing? I'm just wondering if its beyond the realms of possibility that coma Ste gets some facial fuzz and there be kissing happening.
