Took delivery of the HDR-1000S yesterday and so far very impressed.

Just one thing I can't fathom and I wonder if anyone can help?

I have hooked up the external USB hard drive previously attached to my Foxsat box to the 1000S hoping to be able to access the recordings it contains - all SD by the way.

However, although the drive is listed under Storage I cannot get the list of recordings to display when pressing the Recordings button -only those on the internal drive are shown.

Am I doing something "wrong" ? Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Press the home button, then choose the Humax option. You will find the options for accessing content on a usb drive and external DNLA servers.

Thanks Graham. Found the .ts files and they play okay.

A bit unintuitive I thought. The icon being titled "Video - Play Xvid video files" is s bit misleading?

Would have thought accessing via Recordings would have been a more user friendly route?

Apart from the Humax bit of the menus, the rest of the UI is down to Freesat, they will expect that all users of G2 spec kit will look the same to the users for the basic functions. Extra capability particular to a specific maker will at a guess be kept seperate.

I see. Makes sense I suppose. But I would have thought allowing manufacturers to seamlessly blend their additional functions onto the UI would work better.

This is a guess but I think any additional functions would need to be separated, so that freesat can publish screen look and functions of the standard screens and either need freesat approval or at least not break certain rules.
