There has to be an appreciation thread for a reason. On the Discussion thread, people kept making opinion based remarks that I was uncomfortable with, such as:
*Claiming Jesy, who has a really curvy figure and has the best face of the girls, was their least attractive.
*Claiming the Saturdays were bigger just because the earned their First no 1 this year, after 10 top 10 singles. The chart topper- whilst it is a really catchy song- was also their first charting song outside the UK, and hasnt impacted Australia or the states, even with a reality tv show. LM made it world wide, and charted in the top 5 in 8 major charts, on social network alone.
*Claiming LM dont have a headline type- They do- Her name is Perrie Edwards.
*Claiming Fifth Harmony are the girl 1D. I hav not heard 5H and I'm sure they're good, but they don't have a headline type, and look rather simple (although I probably said that about LM 18 months ago). I am glad LM havent set up rivalries with 5H or the Sats, like the Wanted with 1D. Rivalries are better with a good friendship.
* Claiming LM flopped with How Ya doing- a 4th album song- just because they added iconic female rapper Missy Elliot. Missy's last big UK hit was long ago.
*Calling them an 8 year old girls' group because they make toys soley for that part of the market that male mixers like me don't find appealing.
None of the above claims are true, and when anyone says something on the web, it stays there. If you posted a negative comment, will you regret it in a few weeks? Does it make you feel guilty? That is why we need an appreciation thread.
ps: and did James Arthur need promotion for his sucess? No. Promoting on the social network is easier.)
