Ordered a Lumia 920 on launch day and still waiting zzzzz and was shocked to see their tariffs have changed somewhat!

Lumia 920 on 12 months at £56 was 19.99 to purchase now it's £159.99 as an example. (this is the one I purchased at £19.99)

As if EE contracts weren't expensive enough already and now they bump up all handset prices!!

Can anyone else check so we can see how much you paid before and how much it is now?

All the handset prices have shot up for the 12 months contract... I think they realised their mistake and corrected it.

I was very tempted to get the 12 month contract but then I ended up buying the N7105 on PAYG

I had an odd related EE experience. Tried to get a 12 month contract on launch day. The way they had the plans priced it was the same total 12 month price regardless of data plan as for each £5 per month the contract went up the upfront handset cost went down by £60, so odd as it seems the best deal plan they had on launch was £66 per month a 12 month contract with 8Gb data, and £29.99 for iPhone 5 32Gb. When you consider that's a £570 saving on unlocked phone = equivalent £47.50 per month so you're only paying £18.50 per month for unlimited calls and texts and 8Gb of 4g data. At the end of 12 months you go sim-only with EE or another provider.

Perhaps to good to be true?

I order online and get a message at the end that the order has been 'referred' and to phone their customer services. A few phone calls later it turns out I've been refused that plan because of the credit check, but they'll offer plans up to £41 per month - coincidentally the perfect amount to exclude me from their 12 month contracts and forcing me into a 24 month contract. NO THANKS!

I was so confused by the credit explanation I even tried to buy the same contract through Phones4U - with the exact same £41/m counter offer, and looked up my credit rating online to make sure I wasn't the victim of identity fraud but found a perfect rating.

Ok, so it could just be my credit history wasn't what they were looking for, but their hike in prices by £120 a week later - to what is to be fair a more reasonable price - makes me prefer they made a mistake with their initial prices on the 12 month plans and were rejecting orders where possible the more likely explanation.

Anyway, made me angry enough to register to post, sorry its quite long. The end result is a very bitter taste in the mouth about EE, and they've probably lost a customer for life. I've bought the phone direct from Apple and will stay on my £13/month sim only Three plan.

It certainly looks like they spotted their mistake and rectified it a bit later however I got my order in which was accepted and they have debited the correct amount for the phone from my bank and all my order details confirm this so they should have no recourse to take any extra funds from my account.

Makes me think how many people will go onto a 24 month contract or look elsewhere when they see the price increases.
