On More 4. Was hoping that More 4 HD would launch before the series started but seems highly unlikely.

It's a long time since it was last on...forgetting half of it. It is the one with the Cop and his Bad back, and the drugs he takes. And the Detective living with her Mum. Southland: it's like Rookie Blue....with Balls.

I only saw season 3 when it was shown on channel4 a few months back, so it's still fresh in the memory for me.
Might wait for the 2am repeat and hope there are no adverts in it. There weren't any with Shameless last week. |

I really can't wait for this. I think it's such an underrated show too, probably makes my top 5 favourite shows over the last few years.
I think I posted this in another Southland thread, but does anyone else think End of Watch, the new Jake Gyllenhaal film, looks like a bit of a ripoff of Southland...? |

Agreed, it is a very underrated show - probebly due to it being on More 4.
Once it goes HD it will pick up more viewers - I tend to watch 90% of all my TV in HD now so I will only watch a non HD channel if it has a REALLY good program showing. I just hate the picture quality now I've got used to HD. |

Late night repeat on Channel4 HD?
Although like most of you I am disappointed that Season 4 will not premier on More4 HD ( I dread to think what that DOG is going to look like or how much of the screen is going to be covered by it), previous series of Southland have been repeated at a very late night time slot on Channel 4 HD.
You will notice that The Good Wife, a More4 programme is currently receiving the same treatment on Channel4 HD. Also having waited for so long to see Season 4 I am not sure that I could hold out for next year’s unconfirmed launch date of More4 HD. |

Southland itself seems to be the natural development of Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue mixed with the “Fly on the Wall” camera work and feel of Cops . |

The first thing I look at when I tune in is the HD & 3D TV guide to see what’s available in HD. I am sometimes very disappointed to see so many programme names in the White text for SD as opposed to the Orange text for HD. I have a few other gripes like unnecessary text messages continuously covering the HD picture during programmes but I don’t want to be coming across as Schizoid Victor Meldrew. |
