So you mean, previously people didn't realise he was a fake, but by her telling them, she helped them to realise it? Would these people by any chance be people who disliked him anyway but Sharon then gave them something to hang it on.

As for we need to get over ourselves and admit she was right. Prove it - show me the evidence and then I'll hold my hands up. Bet you can't...

Well, the public delivered their verdict on Steve at the final. They obviously didn't agree with Sharon.

Well James, in a civilised society we can't just say what we think.. I was crossing the road earlier and saw a fat bloke, if I had shouted out OI YOU'RE FAT! that wouldn't have been the right thing to do, even though I was thinking it.

I haven't seen that many people on here agreeing with the overly FAKE Sharon, only a few disgruntled fans of the other acts that lost, most of those being G4 fan's, and none have been able to come up with, so far, any evidence to prove that Steve is a fake, because they know Steve isn't

Very true, and no one ever seems to be able to put forward a well constructed, informed argument in defence of Sharon..

Its always something like "yeah Steve's fake and Sharon rocks!"

Hardly convincing is it?

But Spiv, you think it's ok to say, on here, that someone lives in a mental hospital because their views don't agree with yours

If you look through it's the Steve bashers that keep reopening it, strange a Steve basher repeats it and then tells us it's time to get over it. lol.

Look at this, its the same old people continuing it. Im sorry but it was ages ago, people really do need to get over the fact that she said what she said, and steve won. Who cares................

And the person who made the comment about the fat bloke, i see no comparison. She didnt say to steve "you are ugly" "You are fat" "You have a big nose" did she, she plainly said "i have never been a steve fan and i dont like you". In the world today you need to say what you think else you will get nowhere, its not a case of saying to someone who you dont know "You are fat" because you have seen them in the street. If you know someone and you have thrown personal insults at each other, then im affraid you have to do the same back, else you get walked over.

I have never understood how some people use the "speaking their mind" excuse as a means to justify absolutely anything that comes out of a persons mouth. Why is "speaking your mind" considered such a massive virtue that it gives people the right to try and destroy somebody's career/life/realtionship on national tv for instance?

Im no steve basher, not in this thread anyway. You cannot simply blame someone who agrees with what sharon said, just because you dont. You have to accept, that some people do not agree with you and your opinion.

(expecting the normal reply like "Alot of people agree with me because steve won")

How, he still won, and if he has such a wide fan base then regardless of what sharon said, he would still have a career and still has.

I didn't say that the fat bloke comment should be taken as a direct analogy James, just an example of how you shouldn't always say what you are thinking. Sharon was there as an impartial judge and to add constructive criticism as required, her comments were neither impartial or constructive so even if she was thinking these things about Steve she shouldn't have said them out loud on national TV.

Wether she was there as an impartial judge or not means nothing. She was there to give her opinion, and she did. And it happened, so what . My point was that many people agreed with what she said, even if many people didnt. And thats all i was saying, and dont attack others for having a difference of opinion .

I think a lot of people say things like... 'I'm just being honest... I'm just speaking my mind' as though it were a badge of honour when they wish to excuse rudeness.

Sharon's position as a judge did not give her the right to personalise or to be rude in the manner that she did and saying that she is honest is just making an excuse for her rudeness imo.

We can all say what we think, it's not hard it's probably harder to exercise restraint when you really dislike something/someone.

I agree Candice - the majority of Simons comments were constructive criticism, he has never stooped to personal insults like Sharon.
