Typos are common in proof copies of books. Nobody would bother criticising them until the final product was ready.

I don't remember ever using a cook book either or cooking anything that didn't require grilling.

That doesn't make sense, if a Professional Woman hasn't time in her life, then she isn't going to buy a cook book and start recipe making, as that will take up time she hasn't got! Maybe the professional woman's chef would make her food.
