X FACTOR winner Steve Brookstein triumphed by almost two-and-a-half million votes, it emerged yesterday.

The singer, who scooped a £1million recording contract, led the way for most of Saturday night's show.

Of the 8.4 million votes polled, 5.4 million were for Steve. He got 64 per cent of the vote, while rivals G4 managed 36 per cent.

So G4 only got 36% of the vote!

I always knew he would do it and 2 1/2 MILLION extra voters say it all.

So Steve won by over 2 million. All those lies about Steve only winning by 200,000 eh. It was a landslide. So this should stop the sympathy vote scenario once and for all. Sharon could have stayed at home. Her comments made absolutely no difference to the result whatsoever.

Precisely. Its time that he was given the credit he deserves. He won. 2.5 million extra votes is alot of difference. Steve received almost twice as many votes as G4.

I agree that it is about time that Steve was given the credit he deserves. He is obviously very popular. More popular than I would have imagined. What a resounding win.!

Yes, but have you seen some of the ones posted by G4 fans or did you accidentally type 'Steve fans'? Theirs are hypothetical scenarios often presented as facts. I should add not by all their fans - just the very visible ones.

This is true.

All anyone has to go on is information provided by the media, be it newspaper or press release from the x factor.

If this data is rubbished, it works both ways, for G4 fans and Steve fans.
