Can anybody here please advise me how I can transfer vid clips from my iPad(3) to Facebook? Is this possible?

You should be able to do it exactly the same way you'd post a photo: Use the official Facebook app, and select a video from your camera roll (probably still under the "photo" option on Facebook).

Thanks Matt - that worked BUT the vid is too long! Can't seem to find a way to clip off the vid to make it shorter. I did see "edit" but that seems to only add a title in the albums section only?

Finally found out how to do it! Apparently Facebook won't allow uploading of vids much more than one minute. After several cups of tea eventually found out how to crop the vid on the iPad!
