For G4-ers - Mad World by G4
Candice

Although I'm not a G4 fan (have liked some of their stuff) I thought their fans would be interested in listening to this song.

......and a "World Exclusive" for Radio 1.........sounds wonderful. I would love them to have sung this on the show

Which made them worthy competitors for Steve and Steve's win all the more credible.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think it's quite good although I prefer Creep and ND

As I just posted on G4 appriciation

I can't help thinking that it was rushed. I agree that it is a great song for them to sing but it felt a little too flat (not in the pitch sense). The arrangement needs some more varity and they need to sing some off beats to split the melody and rhythm.

Will probably be good though once they get in to the studio and rework the arrangement.

Don't get the World Exclusive bit.

.....I don`t agree it sounded rushed at all. - I love it......and probably was just meant as a world exclusive for Radio l and not for future release (let`s hope they will afford them airplay when their first single (hopefully Creep) is released)........but nice that Radio l are plugging the boys

Well, if Steve won against people who were, quite frankly, rubbish, then Steve's win wouldn't have looked so good. The fact that he won against a good group makes it a worthy win.

But it really means by Radio 1 listeners right?

I think it is highly significant that Radio l are supporting the boys......they normally back away from supporting any Reality TV show acts.

OK I'm glad it means so much. Happy listening and you're right, it is good.

How strange. I only said to my other half the other night I wished they had sung Mad World and now they have.

Now if only I could work that strange magic on other things, like the ebay treasure hunt or lottery.

I shall listen to it when I don't have so many browsers opened up.

I decided to edit my original post. I posted in a nice fashion that this wasn't my cup of tea, but G4 fans enjoy it so it hardly needs a differing opinion, good luck to em...

I agree. They do this really well - much better balanced than when Jon was to the fore. I think it would have gone down better in the competition than some of the other material they performed - certainly better than Creep

I think the X factor turned them into Jon and his backing group. I don't think thats the way they see themselves.

I much prefer them when the voices are balanced. And - shock horror - I liked them as a barbershop quintet!

Remember, they were only ever doing what Simon told them to do at the original audition....I would certainly expect that if (when) they get their chance to record an album we would see the lead vocals shared according to the style of the song.

Oops (blush) - they are a quartet not a quintet. I'm not drinkin, honeshtley.

mad world would have been a much better choice than britney

Opera does wonders for pathos

It seems an obvious choice in retrospect. I wonder why Luois didnt have them sing it in the show
