Is he returning.... he is definately one of the best things to happen to EE in years; he slotted in so well.

What is it with EE; keeping crap characters and actors and letting good characters and actors (like Danny or Vannessa) squander and go.

FFS EE, no one cares about the damn Brannings; they are even now bringing in psuedo Brannings (Cora and her daughter and her son).

I really do despair. If I werent hoping to see some major improvement with Sharon in the next few months, I'd switch off.

He's not Branning enough to become a regular.

God, I hope not!

Unless they forget he was a gay character and just bring him back as a bad guy. He was much more convincing as a bad guy than he was as a gay guy IMO.

Not directly linked to this thread but it is in the OP - but i HATE when people put 'no one cares about...' - Your opinion isn't the same as everybodies.. you shouldn't speak like your speaking on behalf of everyone.

and Cora isn't a Branning - she is a Cross.. I don't say that i'm part of my sister-in-laws family, because they are separate

That she is a cross is irrelevant; she is firmly ensconced in the branning orbit: ie more screen time for one means more screen time for the other.

It has nothing to do with technicalities and everything to do with screen time.

And the Brannings do not need MORE screen time.

EE has been the pits for years now. They need to wake up and save the show, axe the Brannings, before it becomes too late.

Cora also has a lot of screen time with Patrick, and with Lola/Billy/Lexi - does that make her a Trueman or a Mitchell?

"Alot"??? What programme are you watching. A couple of sentences here and there hardly constitutes a lot.

I agree, Gary's character didn't really get going until he was starting to threaten Syed, although it could have been down to a lack of screentime - Gary wasn't terribly well used.

Meh; I thought he did fine... I certainly found him more belieavble as a gay man than Eliot or Partridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucy is not the greatest actor in the world, but he is competent, and did a good job with a small role. He could slot in very well to Walford.

Certainly I'd rather him than yet another addition to the Branning orbit of characters.

How do you work that one out? John Partridge is clearly gay so pressumably you just hate the character....

The character was an unconvincing stereotype played by an unconvincing panto actor - although I will admit it takes some skill to be unconvincing even at panto-esque acting.

Gary looked less comfortable kissing Marc than John ever has and being able to kiss guys is a big requirement if you want to play a gay character. The straight guy playing a gay character on Emmerdale didn't look comfortable in the kissing department either.

As for poor acting, you need to watch David Witts.

If you don't like Christian, fine, but saying a real life gay man can't protray a gay character is silly.

I can't see much point in Danny coming back, to be honest.

He beat a hasty retreat when Mas threatened to report his fraud to the police, so I'd imagine he'll be steering clear of Walford, and just enjoying the £6,000 he pinched. As it was the money intended for Tam and Kamil from the savings account if he shows his face again I can imagine Mas taking steps to get it back.

Are you serious? I daresay there are thousands of gay men out there who could not portray a gay man - because THEY CANT ACT!!!!

Mr Partridge is NO exception to that rule. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they can inherently portray gay characters. What type of specious logic is that???????

And Mr Lucy seemed to have far more chemistry with Elliot, than Partridge ever did - hence, I found their kiising far more believeable.

I think Danny is a much, MUCH better villain than the tedious Derek Branning and, while I'd like him to return, it doesn't look likely.

He could easily be written back in - he clearly holds grudges and Tamwar, AJ and Masood made him look like a bit of an idiot when they made him drop the charges - that's a way back right there

It was said that there was a chance for Danny to return after his initial stint- we may well see him next year
