The whole thing was a sham. At the beginning of the series, showing all the duffers being auditioned by the 3 judges was a complete lie ! That was actually the third audition as the first two auditions were held by the show's producers and they put through who they thought were good and those that were obviously talentless and good for TV. So realistically Simon, Sharon and Louis didnt sit through 50,000 applicants ( even though it was 20,000 ) they saw a couple of hundred and that was that.

Then when it down to the last 9, the 3 judges didnt know prior to the 1st round that they would have the casting votes for the bottom 2 in each round, as this was decided by the producers...however when it was virtually guaranteed that Simon would have to choose, when he had both Rowetta and Steve left, he demanded that the format be changed for that show and that it would be the public vote ( when Rowetta lost out )
He was stunned as he had bankrolled and guided everything into Rowetta winning as he never dreamt that Steve would win. The whole voting thing was a fix. It was a forgone conclusion that he would win - and I mean Simon not Steve, no matter who Simon would have had left in the final they would have won because, ultimately whatever Simon says goes.

Steve is totally unprofessional, he couldnt even sing his final song - unlike Will Young who is a shining star from the Pop Idol series.

All I read is "I don't like the winner so I'm following conspiracy theory no 137".

I'm open to reading interesting stuff, but not made up stuff. Back it up or leave it out.

Actually I quite liked Steve, I had nothing against him, Sharon's comments were very harsh but when nearly every single person in the final 9 didnt like him ( for varying reasons ) there is a grain of truth somewhere.

I think there were more talented people who got through to the final 10 in each category and some of the choices by all 3 judges for the final 9 were quite strange ( Verity... Cassie...2 to Go )

That read, "I'm impartial! Believe me!"

Mole, it is possible to see it differently.

"showing all the duffers being auditioned by the 3 judges was a complete lie ! That was actually the third audition as the first two auditions were held by the show's producers and they put through who they thought were good and those that were obviously talentless and good for TV."

Most of us know that some form of pre-audition audition takes place to get through all the applicants.

The duffers as you call them, if they were bad enough to make for good tv, did in fact perform in front of the judges. So there isn't really any lying going on there, they just do what they need to do to get through that many people.

Yes. most of us saw the end of show format was put in at last minute... but are you absolutely sure Simon "demanded" that the format be changed when he had 2 acts left?

He was stunned as he had bankrolled and guided everything into Rowetta winning as he never dreamt that Steve would win.

Hmmm... so on the one hand he guided everything into Rowetta winning, but on the other he gave up the one chance he had of ensuring Rowetta got to the final? Surely if he had kept the judges deciding vote he would have had more control. If it had been Rowetta and Steve in the bottom two he might have had the casting vote.

I'm not taking the mick, I just think you might have put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5.

Conspiracy Theory 138
Rowetta and Verity were chosen to be in Simon's final 3 because the media would pick up on their stories which meant publicity for the show.

Is this a fact? I am a Ro fan and am aware that she and him got off to a bad start. She has since made about 3 posts on here stating that she and Steve have made up and now laugh about their earlier disagreements. So who are the others in the final 9 who didn't like him? As far as I'm concerned we only have Sharon's word for that. I wouldn't take Sharon's word and Louis's snipes as an indication of how popular Steve was with the others.

Mole.
1) Steve won, get over it.
2) The pre auditions are common practice, it was the same for PI & PI The Rivals.
3) Like it has been said before if he had put everything into Rowetta winning, he would not have changed the format. Ro & Steve (never happen) in the bottom 2 would mean bye Steve (thanks to Louis & Shazza).
4) Your name is rubbish.

I appreciate a good conspiracy theory so thanks for posting.

As an anymous poster it is difficult to know if you are telling the truth or not but I am inclined to believe you as it gives the programme an extra dimension for me and actually makes it more interesting.

So by your above theory/notion, Steve had to fight an inner campaign from within his own camp (Cowell's), to be crowned the winner of the X Factor. In that case, what a very honourable and creditable winner we have!

I shall applaud his triumph even more, by give a two finger salute to all the disgruntled would be provocateurs and fixers whose plotting and underhand methods failed to sway the voting public. *gives a 2 finger salute*

How many more times does the "nobody else in the final 9 liked Steve" theory have to be blown out of the water before it stops popping up? Rowetta says she now gets on with him, Cassie and Verity both said they got on with him better than anyone else, Tabby said he was a really nice guy, Voices with Soul said all the acts got on "like a family". The only one who said anything negative about Steve was Rowetta, who now gets on well with him.

As we watched, as we have week after week, on Saturday we were absolutely adamant that G4 would win.
TALENT, CONFIDENCE,PROFESSIONAL,ALL STARS, BLOODY FANTASTIC.
Then, Kate shouts 'STEVE'!!!!! Well the shock in our house was astounding as I am sure were many households.
No way did he give great performances.
You have to give it to Sharon she says what she means, no beating about the bush and thats just how it should be.
I am not knocking Simon either, he is brilliant at what he does but G4 won that night there is question about that.
Throughout the months it went on it was great entertainment but to be honest with the result of the final being as poor as it was it wrecked the whole veiwing really.
Go to say though...whoever got Robert Unwin to perform on the final should be paid double!, Robert was fantastic...the whole audience you could see were enjoying his performance and for someone who has no background experience of that he was brilliant, and did not forget the words as some did that night....Well done Robert, you and G4 shone that night.
G4 hurry and bring out a CD we will be rushing to buy the work of a quality group.
All the very best.

There is indeed.

G4 were very good. Steve was better.

Just an opinion.

I have very little to no respect for Sharon Osbourne. She acted like a 2-year-old, was unbelieveable partial and, in my view, was quite hypocritical.

Well Steve won, and a very worthy winner too and far better than G4 in my eyes and many people that I know too, said the same and were supporting Steve. So you will just have to accept that the best act won and the voters proved that.

You don't have to give anything to Ma Osbourne for saying what she thinks, she is a sour old moo and has contradicted herself on too many occasions. In fact that might be a good thread to start on her

*****Steve the very worthy WINNER of X Factor*****

Agree with you on the Robert Unwin thing? But why the shock on Steve winning.

Any act that gets to the final is obviously in with a shout, and personally I thought his performances on the night were better than G4's. Nessun Dorma does nothing for me, done to death for italia 90. Creep likewise, good radiohead song, only a novelty act done in that style. Which leaves Bo Rhap. That was good. But it was the 3rd time they'd done it.

I really enjoyed the uptempo higher and higher, smile was a bit wishy washy but against all odds was a fine performance.

Now you'll be reading this and thinking - steve was rubbish G4 were much better. I'm not shocked by the amount of people who liked G4, and I would have understood if they had won without feeling the need to go into therapy. But there have been a few individuals around the forum who really need to accept that other people genuinely liked Steve and enjoyed his performances. We're not just here winding you up. it would be a better place if we respected our differences of opinion.

And now I am going to try to say no more on anything related to Steve vs G4....

Unfortunately it doesn't feel like that sometimes

But I suppose it is likely to happen when people are supporting their favourites and if I were to be positive it is nice that they care about the contestants enough to stick up for them.

Ok guys, I will admit - I worked on XFactor, Pop Idol (1 & 2 ) A friend of mine( who has posted many threads on here ) told me to come on and write a load of old bull and see what reaction I got as she finds it hilarious that people talk such a load of bull.

You lot are such a grumpy lot of sods!

The programme was a delight to work on, full of suprises, gossip and more

Yes, there was friction between certain people , yes certain judges didn't like certain contestants ( which has been well publicised ) but thats what makes up an entertaining show which despite tough competition from the beeb still got 7million viewers every week.

You grumpy lot should look forward to next year when it will be bigger and better ( and no, neither Louis or Sharon have signed up for it yet )

Lets hope Steve's career is a success like Will Young's
( who I might add is one hell of a nice guy )

Until the XFactor tour is over, no-one can sign any of the final 9, but I think for G4 to come 2nd was the best result, as Simon has done a lot of work in recent months on Il Divo and it would have been a real conflict to have two great acts like that. Louis will be the winner there with G4 and god bless the lovely Irish man. As for Sharon ( and the whole family ) they are bonkers and say what they feel, but Sharon has got a star there with Tabby and she should be happy, ( Kelly and Tabby make a good couple )

So, after my brief stint on here, I would like say farewell and leave you grumpy old gits to moan amongst yourselves
(P.S 2 to Go will be 1 to Go after the tour..)
