Youview cost

Hi guys,

can anyone tell me if you have to pay any monthly fees for Youview if you already subscribe to BT Broadband and Vision.

If you already have a btv sub then I dont think so.

why do you have to pay an ACTIVATION? when you already have the BTBB, and the other part of the box is freeview?

I'm slightly confused by this myself.
I received a letter the other day saying that as I'm a BTBB customer I can get the new Humax YouView box for as little as £5 a month. On the bottom of the letter it said there would be a £6.95 cost to cover the postage which is fare enough, but also a £49 activation fee

You have the choice to go and buy one in a shop for over £200. The BT charge is obviously so they can say the box is free but still charge something towards the cost of the box. I happily paid it as it is a quarter / fifth of the cost of buying it retail.

Thanks, but can you tell is there also a monthly subscription charge, I already have BT Vision unlimited and BT Infinity.

Yes - either £5 or £12.50 depending on if you take Essential or Unlimited.

Because you have purchased the box yourself and not through BT. A percentage of the £12.50 goes towards the cost of the box. So the package is cheaper if you own the box.
