(As ever - result hasn't happened yet, please...)

Don't think any actual dances are officially confirmed yet, but the theme (oh yes, it's one of those again) for Wembley is 'Dance Through the Decades', "from 20s Charleston to 70s disco" according to the BBC.

How this will work in practice I don't know - things like Holly and Artem's 'modern' charleston? Hmm.

Odd thoughts - Nicky and Lisa should have latins this week, Fern should have ballroom, but everyone else I think is balanced so they've done the same number of each but haven't done the same discipline more than two weeks running.

We've only had one american smooth all series and that would probably lend itself quite well to this theme so somebody MUST be doing that this week.

We've also only had one argentine tango but I'm less sure about that - apart from it being unlikely to fit the theme, the celebs are either unlikely to pull it off for the big Wembley show OR it is likely to be a knockout dance for them that will be saved until the later weeks.

I can't see the Rumba being done because it wouldn't look right in such a large venue.

I predict quite a few Charlestons and Sambas to fit the theme.

I'm expecting at least one tango, quickstep, samba and jive.

Robin has said he's 'shimmyingly excited' so I'm guessing one of the variations of the Salsamba.

Oh right! I'm sure it will be great. I love the QS and I'd bet they will have some great lifts.

Oh I wasn't looking for proof! I was just wondering why I hadn't seen the tweet.

Len might not be too happy because I'm pretty sure that the Quickstep isn't one of the dances 'accepted' (sorry, I can't think of a better word) for the American Smooth.

I thought QS was a dance that was acceptable for AS... I'm sure it has been done before by some. Flav and Russell did last year and I think possibly Vincent has too maybe(?)

I'm no expert; I just remembering reading that the dances were Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Waltz.

I'm sure it will be brilliant though. I've been looking forward to a Louis Quickstep and he's already proved he can do the spectacular lifts.

Alesha's American Smooth was a quickstep. Just looked at the clip and the judges definitely say there are quickstep elements.

I stand corrected; it must be permitted on Strictly, not sure it is at competition level though.
