I think it's a bit immature at him to take a dig at an artist who doesn't slag off anyone. He is also a complete hypocrite for criticizing The Voice for sob stories when he takes every chance he can get to be on X Factor.

Jessie has been in the spotlight for two years already, a total of eight behind the scenes, and had one of the biggest selling albums in the UK last year. She also has the only two singles she released in the US go platinum and double platinum, whereas Robbie has had no success here whatsoever aside form some guy on American Idol singing his song a few years ago. No one can tell the future, so who knows how long she will be around, but he shouldnt be slagging off others who have done nothing to him. It's a very interesting thing to do when he has had no negative opinion of her before, but now he has new music, he doesn't think she is good enough to last. The same was said about Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and especially Lady GaGa, and they are all still standing. Why can't Jessie?

I agree you can't tell the future but the like's of Gaga, Bieber, Perry are not good examples of artists people didn't think would last but did. They've had two albums and been around four years; that's not lasting. Rihanna's 'only' been around seven years aswell, she's hardly Madonna, Kylie or Robbie yet either. Saying that though I can quite confidently say Jessie J will be around in 18 months time, it hardly a long time away now is it.

So what? Sia has been around for like 20 years and isn't as successful as Bieber, Perry, and the like. Chris Brown has been around 8 years. How are GaGa and the rest not good examples? Bieber came out at 14 and people gave him till he was 16. He is now 18 and breaking records because his fans are dedicated. I don't like his music at all, but I give credit where credit is due. People wouldn't say that about them if they werent young popstars.

Jessie J is awful in every way - a fake, manufactured 'popstar' of the worst kind. Robbie is just saying what most people in the industry think but don't want to say for fear of causing a fuss.

To be fair he was just asked the question so didn't go out of his way to insult her and he gave an honest answer and with many British pop girls like Pixie Lott and Alexandra Burke flopping it isn't out of the question imo. Also i think Jessie will be lucky to have half the success in her career that Robbie has had.

I said exactly in my post why they're not good examples. You think Jessie J could last as long as Perry, Bieber and Gaga. What two albums? Yes she can and she will (obviously). But that is not lasting. Getting to 12 albums and them still being successful is lasting.

Ok if you think, but she is also a songwriter, If she doesn't want to stay on the stage she can always be behind the curtain and be a successful songwriter like Sia or Linda Perry and not like Robbie who can't hardly write for himself.

PS. Maybe in the future she write a song for him

Well, duh. He is lucky to have the success he has had. He also didn't have to be so condescending about it. "She's great" too bad she wont last. Says the guy from the boyband.

And the guy from the boyband isn't? Yea, okay.

Exactly, like she already has a nice discography under her belt for such a short time. Didn't Gary Barlow write Robbie's new single?

LOL she's already really achieved more than him, she writes songs for herself and others that have been highly succesful and earned her alot, she's had several worldwide smashes and written for artists accross the globe aswell, has robbie done all this? No and he's been around for so long now, the fact she's been around for a short time and achieved more than him and the fact she has a very talented vocal range shows she has already far surpassed him, END OF!

Has Jessie J sold 70m records worldwide?

No? No.

Now give me Jessie any day (<<<as per my services) but lets not be ridiculous.

From recollection, wasn't Robbie Williams the somewhat colloquial clown of Take That...it is astonishing that any Boy Band could tolerate such an amateur.

Er no? Robbie has had much more success, he has sold loads more worldwide and has had more hits and you said it yourself he has been around much longer than her and can still have hits.

people here and on the article on the main page are suggesting jessie is more successful/relevant because she `cracked` the states. firstly, having two hits with an under-performing album is not cracking the states and secondly, robbie has achieved huge sales without the us.

robbie was wrong to say what he did, there`s no doubt there, but he`s always had a big mouth.

Please she's achieved more in the start of her career than robbie has throughout his career!

He also secured that 80 million 4 album deal back in 2002

Erm no.

Robbie Williams - 70m records sold >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jessie J - 12m records sold.

Not even close.

I don't like Robbie much but to suggest Jessie J has achieved more than him is damn right stupid and a bit ignorant. Angels is one of the top selling UK singles of all time. It stayed in the top 40 for like two years!

I have followed Robbie for years and he is a bit like Chris Moyles, You either get his humour or you don't. He actually said she's great and it wouldn't surprise me if he said it tongue in cheek as he does a lot of the time which never translates into black and white.

I hope he's right. She can't sing and is disgustingly overrated.
