And they still wouldn't just end it when it was clearly a mistake and try something else, and they drag it out as long as possible, because oh Christmas would be a special time to finally do it .

And yeah, you can tell that was what happened. Even just looking at the casting. Dan probably fit the description put out for the type of guy they wanted that would match Ste and could stand up to Brendan, and with him having been on Neighbors, it was a clinch. But then ES and Hannah Sowden had their stupid f*cking drunken rethink or whatever, and 'Stug' was born. Then they cast Adam accordingly to not out-suit Doug, and Ally got this ... confused story.

Ally, well Dan really, wouldn't have worked out either though. They really just needed to take it more seriously.

Oh I've had doubts too, but only because I don't want to dare to believe they'd give us anything so wonderfully amazing.

I'm starting to believe though. We've earned it! We still have another month or so of Stug left too, so we'll have over-paid our dues by the time Dublin happens!

Interested for opinions - does anyone think that the media and public "frenzy" at the moment will shape the way HO tell the Brendan childhood storyline at Christmas? (and should it?)

Also a couple of questions for the more eagle eyed/longstanding viewer:
1. How do Brendan's kids live in Belfast if his flat is in Dublin?(or do they not in fact live in Belfast? I'm taking that knowledge from the date episode)
2. Does anyone remember the name of the whisky Brendan and Doug were drinking the other day?
3. Do we know of an older relative/friend that Ste would have grown up with as a sort of positive parental figure? (I hate the thought that there was absolutely nobody )

It's like you can't believe that something so nice and amazing could actually be happening that it's so hard to believe so you think all kinds of negative things about it. But all is good now just need Stug to hurry up and be over with.

1. Brendan worked/moved around a lot so probably has a place in Dublin since he grew up there. And the kids must have spent a large part of their childhood there since Declan has a Dublin accent.

Hey MK, I really doubt they will change anything about Brendan's story - it was always going to be massively sensitive, so I'm sure they'll take care with it.

1) The flat is just Brendan's bolt hole for when he's in Dublin I think, and Eileen and the kids live on an estate in Belfast. I guess we're meant to believe they moved between those 2 cities. Seeing as Declan has a Southern accent. I'd laugh if Paddy turns out to be Northern. One of each.

3) No, don't think there was anybody. He mentioned an older brother once but I think he was making it up so the others wouldn't feel sorry for him. I think he was completely alone.

It's HO so I think they probably wouldn't be scared of that sort of thing - if it was Corrie/EE I reckon they'd either postpone it or change it dramatically so it wouldn't have any similiarity to the intended storyline...actually could you image if it was EE - the BBC... shouldn't laugh I know.
I guess they also have the domesticity of it to fall back on if theres criticism.

I do have to admit that Maddie no longer makes me want to throw things at the screen like she used to, the teens on screen as a group yes but not her on her own. Maybe I just don't give a crap about her anymore though.
