Uh I really want Brendan to tell Ste before Pa arrives. I want Ste to hug him and tell him he'll be with him all the time and never leave them alone and he can come and stay at his flat until Pa's gone

I suspect we're all gonna be fumming at Cheryl when Pa arrives because everyone ES,Emmett have all said basically Cheryl's his princess she was the chosen child and idolises her dad.

I wanted Ste to know before Pa comes as well just so he can fully understand when Pa comes and almost protect Brendan from everyone. But I think for the drama it will be a Christmas/New Year reveal where everyone finds out with a lot of crying and shouting. I really want Ste to be angry and from a safe distance away tell Pa what a disgusting human being he is and how he doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as Brendan.

Yeah, I don't think he'd fancy-fancy Seamus, he's in love with Brendan and he knows that Pa violently abused Brendan too, but like you say, I think he'll be fascinated and charmed despite himself after first meeting him and hating him for having hit Brendan as a child. There's an instinct I think Ste would have about Seamus, but he might repress it out of a belief in giving 2nd chances like he got, and for Brendan's sake, that he might forgive him and have his father again. You just know Pa's going to pretend to want to make up for some version of the past with Brendan. But then Ste will find out about the sexual abuse.

And I don't even want to analyze all that might be going on in Seamus' head about Ste.

Somehow I think it's gonna take a long while for it to get out of Brendan that his dad sexually abused him. I don't know why. It just strikes me that if he didn't tell anyone about it until he was like 30-something (or 29? However old he's meant to be) then he's not exactly going to start chatting about it willy-nilly. I think it'll suddenly explode out of him unexpectedly, but only after weeks of pressure from his dad and everyone else.
